Hi all

I got offered a job with woods back in september this year, and i have sent the contract back to Catherine at woods a couple of weeks ago. Just wondering if anyone has heard from the migration agent yet. We are looking at moving out at the start of March next year.

Mark

Hi Angie,

I know just what you mean !!! One day i'm all excitted and the next i'm questioning myself and worrying if i'm doing the right thing.

There are quite a few suburbs that I like the look of, one of them being Sanctuary Lakes  but, I think because of the locations of the workshops we're goning to head towards Berwick area. Another reason is because alot of others are heading there and it would be good to all meet up and help each other out with settling in ...thats the idea anyway..lol.

Have you been on Moving to Melbourne Meet & Greet,Furnished Rentals,Airport Pickup Relocation Assistance its run by a lady called Kate from PIO its got suburb discriptions and i found it really usefull.

I hope you don't mind, i've done a friend request for you most of the other friends are either working or about to work for woods or people who are heading to Melbourne too.

I asked Christine at the interview and she said around 6wks but as you say there has been changes so may be different now

well we are out there now .got picked up at the arport by patrick(head of personal) and catherine.very warm welcome,we have to stay in a furnished appartment until tuesday in frankston right next to the beach.we are moving to berwick on tuesday.we struggled getting a rented house in berwick but managed to secure one at the last minute.i have to go to head office tommorow to do the paperwork etc.to anyone considering the move the stress and preasure to give up before you get here can get overwhelming at times but we stuck it out and are now on our third day overhere and love it so far..early days i know but the place seams so clean compared to our part of england.we just need to get in our house and start meeting and socialising..which with two young kids shouldnt take long..

Hi, I'm glad you've got there safe and sound. It sounds like you're glad you done it.

Whats Frankston like, is it near Berwick ??.

We've sent our contract back so once we've paid the fee to ATC then we'll be under way with the whole process.

Hope to meet you when we make the move.

Hi Lynne, not sure, not heard anything but read on a thread about another meeting in Nov. Maybe theres talk about changing the MODL and CSL list as well. Just trying to not think about it now but its hard not too. If its not meant to be...well? i can wait but as long as my daughter gets in FT education.

Hi Razzled, thats brilliant news that you's are finally there, before you know it you'll be settled and reading all the posts from us lot still to go thru with it all. What airline did you fly with, how was the flights? What age are your kids, how did they cope with the journey? Is it a problem getting rental acc in Berwick if your newly arrived,as,when i look on Domain/RealEstate there seems to be alot of rentals available!!! Let us know what the schools are like; how much if anything are the school fees, how easy is it for the kids to be enrolled in school there.Hopefully be seeing you this time next year.

thats goes towards books..our girl is too young for school they have to be five before april to get in that year ..term is feb till dec.then six weeks off..they have kindergarten but we are still looking into that..costs you $50 a day ish..we struggled grtting a house with atc but we got one the day we flew..some have to stay in appartments at first till you get approved for one.we think berwick is nice plenty of shopping arround..we stopped in frankston was nice near the beach but some of it was rough.weve already met some nice people and it does help..but you will question yourself sometimes..what have we done etc..but you have to make it work ..ther is loads to do over here..
