Got an email from my CO saying the London office is processing the visas within 10 months which is inline with our times. So good news for all.

Hi, No Live Trace means there is something there but its ols info. Your CO will ask you for more details of past history. I think you need to apply for a Public Access Request to satisfy immi. If it had come back No Trace then youd be good to go.

 

You are correct, I have had to find out what the details are, it's back in 1994, I had forgotten about it tbh, it's was a mate MOT'd my car, and when it came to it, the document was dodgy, and because it was my car, I copped it................I spoken to my Agent, he's not worried, but asked for the public access record to be show them when they ask for more details.

I applied for mine at the beginning of December 2014, i have to admit i was a little worried, as i noticed on the table people had applied nearly 2 weeks after me started to get theirs granted, i gave the department a call as my emails have gone unanswered... was essentially told the 10 to 14 month thing quite abruptly... its just a long grueling wait.. i dont know why im stating the obvious here... i know we have to wait.. its just better telling someone... but congrats to the max those of you who have them.

Hello

 

I would just email the Co and let them know, they will advise you what to do. Once the baby is born you will apply for Citizenship by Decent for baby which is pretty straight forward, very cheap and takes up to 4 weeks and then you can apply for an Australian passport for them.

 

I have step children who are part of the application who will be coming with us and i also have two children have Citizenship by decent, they go on the form as non migrating dependants as they have the rights to australia anyway .

you'd not be adding the baby to the application or applying for a visa, so can't think you have to notify them yet, but it might just be good your partner let them know, in case or then the CO may explain the course of action you do need to take.

 

Once baby arrives get busy with the Aus citizenship by descent and then Aus passport. Plus updating CO with info re the baby. I think you will have to list them as a non migrating dependant (think we did this for our son as Aus pp held etc and therefore not on my application) and submit birth certificate, Aus citizenship cert and Aus passport.

Be prepared for a day trip to London for the passport. You as the Aussie need to apply and attend the interview in person iirc. Its not a long interview. Child does not have to be there (though obviously with a small baby you'll probably travel with them at least and leave baby in care of partner during interview if need be). Its appointment only and you have to book in advance.

 

Passport then gets sent in the post within a short timeframe.

Well its been a while now ( a week ) since we had news that someone got their Visa Granted, well Wango, Ip77, Bobby122 ,Nadin77 and Myself are with in reach of the 10 mth mark soon so hopefully we will be getting an answer very very soon..... The wait seems to get longer the closer you get ;-)

Yeah you applied a few weeks after me, we managed to borrow the funds to get the visa applied for on the 31st December so we didnt get stung with the price increase on the 1st. Cant believe they increased it again 1st of July, they must be rolling in it !!!!
