Dogs in cafes

Some cafes in trendy areas in Melbourne are letting owners bring their dogs with them to their cafes. Not sure about this. I would avoid these places personally, knowing the habits some dogs have !

As long as they are well behaved and just sit quietly - no problem.  Some dog owners like some parents let their dogs/offspring make a bleeding nuisance of themselves.  As I am a grumpy old woman I avoid cafes/restaurants which welcome children.  When meeting friends for a coffee/lunch I don't want to listen to noisy kids.  Same would apply to dogs.  😉

I’m in Brisbane and there are a lot of dog friendly cafes. I take my two but they are very well behaved and just lay next to the table until we leave, sometimes I get them a Puppaccino [emoji4]. As a dog owner it annoys me when people bring unsocialised or aggressive dogs who then cause a scene by barking at every other dog that comes in, I also don’t like it when people want to bring their dogs over to mine and allow their dog to start to play...it’s not a dog park!

Love going to cafes where the dog’s are, it’s nice to see them involved in family life and like Toots, we’ll avoid those with noisy unruly children. Many a trip out has been ruined by parents letting their children run around bumping into tables etc and generally just being a nuisance, and the parents never rein them in either. Not ever been offended by a unruly dog !!!!

Totally agree. Bring anything to a cafe.  Just respect other people. Ensure manners and behaviour are appropriate. I breastfed both my boys in restaurants and I doubt anyone noticed with careful deployment of scarves it just looked like I was holding them naturally.
Why do people feel the need to announce everything they do and scream look at me! Oh and take photos of everything they eat.

Recently found myself in a cafe, obviously not meant for the likes of me!.  Full of beautiful young people who never spoke to each other and only smiled for photos (or should I say posed for photos).  Not sure any of them took time to enjoy the food they had shared online, or the people they were with.

Stop living life on line and get real!

Sorry, rant over......
