Because if MA submitted for you then all communication about your application should go via your Agent, they don't contact you directly.

This surprised me. Does anyone had the same experience?

Yes it surprise me too. First time I am hearing this "immi officers visit the office/job location".

Is there anyone here applying for both nomination and visa in mid April 2017 and still waiting?

My timeline’s as below:

13/04/2017: Nomination and visa application

07/09/2017: Two Department officers (not case officer) visited my office to interview me regarding my 186 TRT application.

No news / updates since then!

Occupation: Conference and Event Organiser

ImmiAccount Status: received (for both nomination and visa)

HR country with 2 people included in the application.

@Hilary did department officers took appointment before coming to your place or they made surprise visit? what's the interview about though???

Because 186 is all about the Company sponsorship so if they have any questions, they should talk to the Company, not the Application. Especially MA did all the paperworks for the applicant.

There is one part in the 186 application said that "All communications should be directed to... (the Agent's contact details)

in some cases they do random visits to verify if client is legitimately working at nominated place, this happened before it's not new thing.

Surprise visit of course! Just as same as surprise call to the employer!

The interview was about my job duties and what I have done since working for my employer. Some other questions cover my salary, how many people are working for my company, etc...basically it was all about the genuineness about my position.

The interviewers also advised me that my application was on the way to be finalised. He said maybe another 2-to-3 month wait or even shorter...but now 8 months passed, no news at all! ?

Hi Hilary, how you know the interview was regarding 186TRT not your 457? Did they mention about what it for?

as I know department officer would randomly monitoring 457 applicants and their employer by request documents, and/or occasionally visit applicants's workplace to verify their position.

Exactly the same experience, it was a surprise visit.

Although I lodged both the nom and visa in the mid of July 2017 via MA.

Because they opened the topic by saying ‘We are here to have a chat with you with regards to your 186 application...”

Yes, I called and e-mailed...to conclude all the response, ‘wait’ is the word!

My ImmiAccount still shows ‘received’!

Mostly the same as yours, my job duty, the company structure, ect.

They mentioned my application is at the last step to be finalised, however, they cannot guarantee how long it would take.

Silent reader here, but finally get to share the exciting news!

A long wait of over 16 months ended today. Applied in Jan 17, 186 DE, HR, 2 people and wait for it....MARKETING SPECIALIST!

A little too excited to say anything more!!

PS - after crossing 16 months immigration  agent sent a follow up email, possibly a couple of weeks ago and we updated all documents by end of last week. Not sure if all that helped, but just glad it went from received to finalised!

Congratulations...?

@Hilary  did department officers mentioned are they coming from immigration department or they acting on behalf of immigration department? i mean... what i want to ask is did they ask you any particular questions about your job that gave you hint may be this guys are coming from your industry sent by immigration department to cross check your knowledge?? like you know mystery shoppers they could be from any industry or from same industry but don't work directly to company.?
