Guys, I have received a NOIC - cancellation of my current visa 457 Because i have applied for ENS DE186 visa ?

Does that mean my current 457 will be cancelled ? If yes, Is this the indication that they are in process of approving my 186 visa ?

Hi sue ,

could you please share your timeline ?

186 DE visa /Nomination 17 Sep 2016

FYI Guys - My agent said its pretty standard to cancel 457 as i no longer work for nominated employer hence my bridging visa will automatically kick in as 186 is still in progress.

Thanks all :)

BTW, my lawyer just reassigned from her previous company and the email address she used to apply my nomination is now redirected to another person. Will that cause a problem. ? My lawyer said that she would still follow up on my case, but if her previous email is no longer in use, how could she response to IMMI if contacted ???

Hi Sue

Grant of a Permanent Visa will automatically override any other visa you that hold.

I know a people who have moved from 457 to DE 186/187 and non of them got a cancellation notice for their 457.

I would advise that you should call the immigration once just be sure.

Best of Luck

great.

I was thinking that you are still with the company that sponsored you for the 457 visa.

Best of Luck

Thanks for the well wishes everyone! Longest wait of our lives after being here for so long - hope we hear more good news soon...can't really celebrate when we're only halfway through - we're still not fully relieved but so thankful!

@mahenderntpc, have you followed up recently? Hope you hear good news soon!

@badaich87, yes, unbelievable - making peace with uncertainty is helping my sanity. :) RE updating documents, only thing I know is that my employer's MA uploaded updated employment confirmation to their account a few months ago in anticipation (given how long we'd been waiting). I also added my YE 2016 PAYG late last year along with some recent payslips.

Yes, thank God - got it a few days away from one year but we're only halfway there SO we're not breathing until it all comes through - scared/happy, ha ha!

Oddly enough, I rang them last week and the lady said that visa hadn't been allocated but that she could not disclose information RE nomination. She also said that we were still technically within the 90% (processing timelines) as we hadn't reached on year yet! I didn't share this here, as thought it might give false hope. I'd actually told my employer that I felt the IMMI lady was subtly trying to indicate that my nomination had a CO - but we laughed it off to wishful thinking. Who knew??

Oh and the nomi grant states WA PESE..

@Sue2017 You have a peculiar situation. If one no longer works for the company which nominated him for DE 186 visa, then his 457 is cancelled and also the PR nomination will also be withdrawn. What does your MA say about it? Is your DE application still active? Your DE 186 application is bounded by the employer who nominates you. Can you share your status and what exactly your MA has advised?

Syd2016 -

My 457 nomination was through a separate employer as opposed to my 186 nomination. I hope the result will be positive, at this stage lawyer said my 457 will get cancelled and my 186 Bridging visa a will get active

My immi account still shows status received for 186 DE and Status finalised for 457
