Hey Guys.

Being a slient follower for quite a long time.

but it's finally the time to share.

Mine has been approved yesterday after 9 months wait.

The whole process turned to be  bit miracle as my cases haven't been touched till one Case officer called up MA  to follow up some other documents with a totally different application.

My MA then advised my case to him/her nicely at the same time and  both nom and visa are approved the next day.

God bless us all,we will be there finally .

one tip from me is it's always good to ask politely even without any clear updates given as there is always a chance to be looked after.

Nomination 25/08/2016

visa 19/09/2016

Approved 30th May 2017

Transition

Sales and Marketing Manager  HR

Congrats mate

Hi all,

I uploaded today the documents they requested a week and a half ago and the status changed from "information requested" to "assessment in progress". Does this means that they are already doing it or is it just the standard status change when you upload documents? I'm not with a MA.

Cheers!

2 cents from me -

After 6 months of app lodgement and even if you have a MA, feel free to call up IMMI for update. Be gentle and extremely polite to ask them for update. Do start the conversation by thanking for their time and hard work, then ask if it is appropriate to ask about status as you have been anxiously waiting for over 6 months for any update.

Once I completed 6 months, I called them thrice in a span of 10 days and every time they spoke very well and gave me an update. In my third and final call, they told that my application will be picked up soon and within 3 hours the status changed to Granted. (App was lodged in NSW but approved in WA, I used MA).

During the calls, they said that status update takes precious time and I should contact my MA for an update. On this I apologised and again thanked them for their time and effort. The agent mark each time you call in the application, so be honest as well.

Thanks for sharing this - I will definitely call them tomorrow. My agent contacted them twice without any answer, I sent an email a week ago and nothing.

It's been almost a year that I am waiting and I never called them so I will take your advice, stay super polite and ask them for a status.

fingers crossed!

Guys

does anyone know how to check Nomination app status ? I can only see my 186 Application under my IMMI account login !

Is there a way to keep a track of Nomination as well ?

Thanks :)

I called the department of immigration today - first time in more than 11 months. I had sent an email last week but did not receive any answer.

The person I talked to was very nice and patient. She knew I had an agent and did not get upset with me at all for calling.

She told me that my application is not processed because my nomination had not been approved yet. Obviously she could not disclose any information related to my company.

My understanding from the conversation is following: the Case Officer is the final person who completes the assessment, however it sounds like background checks are being managed by other teams before the Case Officer is being allocated. So even if we do not have a CO and our status is "received", it does look like the nomination files are being looked at.

I think it is fine to call immigration and check on your application after the 90% timeline has been reached. They do not mind if you have an agent as long as you are polite and do not call every week. However our applications depend on our company nomination so there is not much these guys can tell us if our nomination is holding the file.

In my case, I do not think that there is any issue on the company side or on my side. I feel like being a DE Marketing Specialist is holding the file basically because that occupation is under high scrutiny.

I have followed up with my agent and asked if she could call. She is nice so I trust she is doing the right thing. ***fingers crossed***

Hi, my medicals were uploaded yesterday so I clicked on the "info provided" button and now it says "assessment in progress". What is the next stage - CO assigned or decision? They haven't asked us to redo our police checks (which expired in March) - presumably because we've not been back to the UK since doing them?

The visa inquiry number on the website: http://www.border.gov.au/about/contact/make-enquiry

Do plan some time ahead if you call as there will likely be a queue.

Again, I would avoid calling them if you are not above the 11 months timeline. I would also avoid calling too often. If this is managed like a call centre, these guys are probably taking notes about each contact from your agent or yourself. So put yourself in their shoes ;-)

And by the way, they also just answered my last week email. And this is not an automated email, this is a real answer. In short, they tell me that the application has not been allocated yet and they are still allocating April to December 2016.

As frustrating as it is, use common sense, stay calm and polite. These guys do not change or make the rules - they just apply them.

Again thanks for your reply. This makes sense a lot. I might as well wait a bit more to make a call.

Do you think that ppl will get less visa grants in June?

I wish we could guess but the government is changing the rules all the time and is not being transparent about it - obviously on purpose - so It's impossible to know.

I would avoid speculating though as it will not change the outcome and may cause more anxiety than anything else. That being said I am super stressed :)

Have a great weekend!

Hey guys,

I've been following this for a few months now.  Today I got some good news. My nomination was approved. They have requested a further police check which I am now waiting on.  Then hopefully I'll get that magic email ?

Good of luck to everyone.

Yep totally agree. I am planning to visit the immi office in city to find out the process. Just give it a shot.

You have a good weekend too.
