Guest Guest66881
THE City of Perth has introduced female-only parking bays in a CBD carpark. The 28 “female friendly” bays in the City of Perth Pier Street carpark — out of a total of 700 bays — are located close to the entrance and exits. The area includes upgraded lighting and additional CCTV cameras, City of Perth chief executive Martin Mileham said. “Men won’t be fined if they park in the bays but the City encourages men to support this trial,” he said. The trial starts from next week and will run for three months. The feedback so far has been supportive, Mr Mileham said. http://www.news.com.au/national/western-australia/perth-carpark-trials-female-friendly-parking-zones/news-:laugh:story/e8e1d21668ed056ce92f75f5aba43e74
Guest The Pom Queen
There aren't enough disabled or parent bays so why the need for female only bays?

scuffythetugboat
So I presume the 28 male only bays will be the furthest bays away from the shops then. So maybe there should be another 28 bays midway to accommodate those that are struggling with their sexual identity?
blossom
This is stupid. They may as well have expensive car bays for people more likely to be car jacked with Peter lighting and cameras etc. :-/
Quoll
Bloody daft! What are they saying? Women can't walk an extra few paces? Women need wider parking bays? Or are they saying that their environment is unsafe and women need to be able to make a quick exit? In which case they need to do something about security not implementing discriminatory practices
Sammy1
Instead of female parking bays, they need to improve general safety, lighting and increased police presence. I guess a parking bay is cheaper and probably a lot less effective..?
benj1980
Women moan about being stereotyped with pink, how do they feel about this? Awful plan I'm afraid, money wasted.

newjez
Agree with all the above. Men are probably more at risk of violence than women.
