NowPerth
Leaf-cutter bee. The pale yellowy thing it looks like it's sitting on is a huge piece of leaf it's carrying back to the hive.

HLSvictory
What a nice thread Stacey! That's me and Jack!! Volunteered in Adelaide at AHWL- was a rescue - lived wild, but didn't think he could fly. Used to laugh at me. But, I used to share my banana with him every morning! Not sure what this fella was (I'll know it if I hear it!). We called him ET! This was in Brisbane - scared me to death! Was just looking in the water- and saw him suddenly!! haha Don't like spiders - but I liked the orb-weavers (didn't find them running about) - give you a fright if you went walking about though - had to watch you didn't walk into one - which I nearly did with this one!! HLSvictory
Sorry - just found a couple more!! This dropped from the sky in Queensland! Couldn't believe it! I think it's a rhinoceros beetle. Came across this little dude at a hostel. We fed it peaches.
Tulip
Lush thread! I know they're a pest but I love the Ibis! St. What's his name's Cross spider enjoying a meal. Butterfly. Not very impressive in pictures, but I love that in QLD you see them everywhere and they're huge! Like planes flying about! Another St. Andrew's Cross spider. Not even sure what this one is. Dragon! Lorikeet just chilling by the car! Another dragon, tiny one this time, who kept me very entertained whilst I was waiting for hubby to come off a rollercoaster. Last but not least, a Rosella parrot enjoying a cheesy snack he liberated from our picnic. See how he's rubbing it in, by sitting on my husband's shoulder?! Bobj
That rock wallaby is that the one we saw in the flinders and we asked you about it? The Flinders wallabies have different markings, Stacy, these are north Qld ones. Perhaps not truly rare, but very uncommon in our area. Cheers, Bobj. Maruska
What happened to the baby sunbird? Did they parents still feed him outside the nest? I put a baby bird back to the nest once, looked it up the next day and it was dead . Not sure because it was injured in the fall or because it wasn`t fed. He flew off and the parents looked after him. This happened 6 years ago. He is now the resident male and, with his mate, has reared a pair of young in our garage last month... Cheers, Bobj. I remember when i was younger me and my cousin found a baby chick that seemed to of been abandoned. We called it chucky after the film about that crazy doll lol. Fed it things and tried finding worms! We didnt touch it incase its mum came back but the next day it was gone. My aunt told us its mum had took it away to a new place.. Now i know a cat probably got it!
