flag of convenience
No fireworks. Well that aint much of a new years eve party. No fireworks. As long as the beer is discounted in the pubs then. No fireworks as they are kept back for a few weeks later on Australia Day. In Perth you would be better off going to a prearranged event/gig to be sure of somewhere to go. Some years they do have something in NorthBridge but not a big deal. Even Perth folk attempt to remain awake until past 9.30 pm with some daring folk still up and about at 10 so I'm told. Hard to believe though and suspect it's another of those urban myths doing the rounds from time to time about Perth.
Bob1
The firework budget goes on the Australia Day show - 26th Jan - one of the best in the country I believe. New Year's Eve - places like Gloucester Park - horse racing - is meant to be a good night out and they have a small firework show. Most people end up at parties in someones back yard for all the family and jump in the pool at midnight.
