  2. The main thing you need to think about is this in relation to the VISA applicant, not the sponsor : If you or any family members (including those who don't apply for the visa with you) owe the Australian government money, you or they must have paid it back or arranged to pay it back. This is not for the Sponsor. If you have a HELP or HECS debt or possibly even Tax Debt, you can still sponsor a person. The main thing is whether you have a criminal conviction or record, and fines/tax debts are not criminal matters. It's criminal when things involve fraud, tax evasion etc... and you have a court ruling with a conviction on this. If you don't have a criminal conviction, it's not something they look at I believe. DISCLAIMER: Not a registered agent, but have done many VISA applications.
  3. Good stuff. We did the upload a few weeks before the date. Then realised we had one error in the application, had to upload a 1023 form, also discovered more Stat Decs that help with the application that defined on the IMMI site. Something that's not immediately clear. Generally uploading new documents as the weeks go on. Making sure the evidence stacks up. We didn't need to do this for the 309, but on the 100 they say the sponsor should fill this out. https://immi.homeaffairs.gov.au/form-listing/forms/stat_dec_sponsor.pdf
  4. When already on a 309 VISA and we have a child and buying property, does it impact (positively) the speed of processing the 100 VISA?
  5. Fair enough. I have heard stories of women leaving in the middle of night back to their home country with their baby.
  6. Interesting, I just had a chat with my wife and she said, that if it wasn't for our daughter (born in Australia) she would feel far more homesick than she does now, and having her daughter makes it all worth it, and she feels she can share the experience of a new country with her daughter. My wife said she does miss her home country and family, but our family is our own story and that's what is important. I was quite surprised by this, which kind of goes counter to what other people have said, in not having a child.
  7. Hmm yes sorry, I skimped over those details, re-read.
  8. That's actually a fair point. It's something we'll need to sort out. But I know from my parents experience, my mom went back to her home country a few times and realised Australia was just a better experience. When it comes to the UK, if you live a good life, there's not much benefit to living in Australia, the UK has very nice infrastructure and natural places to visit. It's quite clean in the UK and the seasons are varied. So yeah, the UK is a tough one. That's why many people from countries where life is much harder, especially Afghanistan and Pakistan, make their way to Australia, it's a much better life.
  9. My wife and I have decided to get ourselves a summer/winter house in Russia once we get a property in Australia, so we can spend time in both countries. It's a long journey, but we've already bought our Australian townhouse (April 2022) till it's finished. We had a baby, and we'll get her dual citizenship. I work remotely, so this kind of lifestyle is at least financially feasible. Maybe you can also do travel between the two?
  10. I recently saw an immigration agent ask $450 for a check of your documents, so its not overly cheap, but it is better than thousands if you want to get it done.
  11. If you have a Mac, there's a wonderful new feature. If you right click on a collection of images, you get the following lovely feature :
  12. Also, don't be afraid. The main concern is getting information wrong accidentally. If you need some advice, I suggest you write up a structured plan to break down each task into parts. It makes the whole thing digestible. Initially it feels like a huge task, but doing things one by one is what you need to do. Give yourself two months to put the application together so you have plenty of time to check, double check and collect all the information. The anxiety is real. But putting the pen to paper to just start breaking things up really helps relieve the anxiety. I remember when we did our first revision on the forms ... We did have a friend look over the application and did discover we accidentally called my wives sisters and brothers, step brothers and step sisters... that was a good find.
  13. We only needed translations and 888 ID documents need to be certified. We didn't need to certify Australian ID. Though you may need to certify any overseas ID documents, maybe...
  14. In the 80s our parents had their flight from Poland paid for by Australia
  15. Unbelievable. Well we had our 309 visa granted in 7 months, so hopefully the 100 gets done quicker.
  16. Surely 10 days early won’t have a negative impact? I thought you had to do it in the month before… @paulhand could this cause problems for the visa submission? I read in another forum that you can submit it two months or less from the date. They just do not consider it until the actual date has passed…
  17. We received the request from IMMI via email that we can now submit our Part 2 - Permanent VISA. So I just submitted it.
  18. In my opinion it's clear to get the 802, unless you want to stay in India while you wait for the VISA... There are a few options, I think it's best to speak to a migration agent about this. Because there are more options than what you have described here @Indianinoz
  19. Hard to say, I would really suggest you try and figure out relationship issues. When it comes to birth and kids, the general advice as a man that has been given to me, is keep the peace with your wife after pregnancy. Generally, unless its dangerous, the woman knows best what is good for the kids. (In my experience anyway). So try to suck up the ego and pride here. Anyway, regarding your questions. All of them are answered in this blog post -> https://ahwc.com.au/partner-visa/relationship-ended-what-happens-to-your-partner-visa/ Form 888 can be used with the same people if you want. But you can also ask different people. Form 888 needs to show that you both take care of the child if you are separating. Again, try to keep the peace, but if you feel you cannot be together, well you need to inform DHA and hope for the best.
