  1. Georgia. But it's not safe there either for many Russian people fleeing the war.
  2. There are over 75000 asylum seekers a year who arrive in Australia by plane and are given Refugee status. Not sure where you get this idea that they can't seek Asylum.
  3. Hi there, We have some friends seeking asylum as they cannot return to Russia due to their stance on the war in Ukraine. Can someone suggest a contact to work out if they can apply for asylum and a permanent protection visa in Australia. Suggested agent contact would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.
  4. GRANTED!!! 100 VISA DONE! Wife is now a permanent resident! Funny that just last week I decided to get an updated police check done and VIOLA! :D Time to celebrate!
  5. Currently preparing our June update now. It's been 14 months. :) Still under the expected time, but I hope they get ours done before December! :)
  6. Congratulations! Also, NOT FAIR We've been waiting 13 months already for our 100 VISA. I guess they don't care about the 100s that much, as the 309 is actually Indefinite... So yeah. Even banks treat the 309 and the 100 as the same thing.
  7. 75% of VISAs are done in 17 months, the remaining ones could take a lot longer. We have a daughter here in Australia now, plus waiting to buy our house. Did an update in December and will do another update in April. Also, we need to apply for our Police checks again, because the timeframe is running out for our existing police checks, they are only relevant for 12 months.
  8. Hello Mitho, we were granted our 309 in December 2020. Now waiting for our 100. But it seems like it could take another 12 months from now by the stats on the timeframes. How is your VISA process going, which visa are you waiting for and how long?
  9. Perfect Steve! I think I found my contact. I will reach out when have more progress. I'll send you a PM to exchange contact details.
  10. Yes, there are absolutely very few people in general for child care and young schooling. Even locally we have found that anyone with any experience is snapped up. Many people speak very little English and generally drift to their own communities.
  11. All good, I understand. Yes, we are not aiming at creating a for-profit community centre. It's a long process, but we are just putting the pieces together.
  12. I doubt this is the case, as they are prolific through Australia. There are many such places in Chinese, Indian, Thai and other such community centres which cater to local communities. In fact, I attended one such such kindergarten/prepschool a long time ago. I don’t see how this can be illegal… if they are, quite a lot of community centres would be shut down. If you know of any specific legislation, really please let me know as before we move forward with our centre, it would be good to know certain laws. Thanks
  13. We have other staff members we would like to bring into Australia and are looking for an agent.
  14. Hello, we are looking at possibly opening a childcare centre focused on the Eastern European immigration community. If you are an immigration agent and can provide services in managing the visa process, can you please PM here to exchange contact details and follow up, thanks. Regards,
  15. Well, coming up to 12 months since our separate VISA 100 submission and nothing! :) Hoping to get into the 75% category.
  16. From what it looks like, the 801 and 100 VISAs are taking a long time to process the processing times are available here : https://immi.homeaffairs.gov.au/visas/getting-a-visa/visa-processing-times/global-processing-times Sorry to hear your relationship did not work out. It's always a lot of work to make relationships strong, and having to deal with the VISA process puts extra strain. Wish you the best.
  17. So will they contact us about checking the medicals again? Last time we went the doctor said nothing has changed and unless there are symptoms, we leave it at that... Not sure what that meant.
  18. I believe we only need the AFP check, we arrived in Aus only about 6-7 months after the previous police check from Russia before we arrived in Australia.
