Georgia. But it's not safe there either for many Russian people fleeing the war.

There are over 75000 asylum seekers a year who arrive in Australia by plane and are given Refugee status. Not sure where you get this idea that they can't seek Asylum.

Hi there, We have some friends seeking asylum as they cannot return to Russia due to their stance on the war in Ukraine. Can someone suggest a contact to work out if they can apply for asylum and a permanent protection visa in Australia. Suggested agent contact would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

Timeline on 309/100 via applied for in London
psuwara replied to Nadine1's topic in Family / Partner Visas
Congratulations! Also, NOT FAIR We've been waiting 13 months already for our 100 VISA. I guess they don't care about the 100s that much, as the 309 is actually Indefinite... So yeah. Even banks treat the 309 and the 100 as the same thing.- 3,663 replies

75% of VISAs are done in 17 months, the remaining ones could take a lot longer. We have a daughter here in Australia now, plus waiting to buy our house. Did an update in December and will do another update in April. Also, we need to apply for our Police checks again, because the timeframe is running out for our existing police checks, they are only relevant for 12 months.

Hello Mitho, we were granted our 309 in December 2020. Now waiting for our 100. But it seems like it could take another 12 months from now by the stats on the timeframes. How is your VISA process going, which visa are you waiting for and how long?

I doubt this is the case, as they are prolific through Australia. There are many such places in Chinese, Indian, Thai and other such community centres which cater to local communities. In fact, I attended one such such kindergarten/prepschool a long time ago. I don’t see how this can be illegal… if they are, quite a lot of community centres would be shut down. If you know of any specific legislation, really please let me know as before we move forward with our centre, it would be good to know certain laws. Thanks

820/801 Visa - Cessation of Relationship
psuwara replied to Morrisano's topic in Family / Partner Visas
From what it looks like, the 801 and 100 VISAs are taking a long time to process the processing times are available here : https://immi.homeaffairs.gov.au/visas/getting-a-visa/visa-processing-times/global-processing-times Sorry to hear your relationship did not work out. It's always a lot of work to make relationships strong, and having to deal with the VISA process puts extra strain. Wish you the best. -

So will they contact us about checking the medicals again? Last time we went the doctor said nothing has changed and unless there are symptoms, we leave it at that... Not sure what that meant.- 3,663 replies

I believe we only need the AFP check, we arrived in Aus only about 6-7 months after the previous police check from Russia before we arrived in Australia.- 3,663 replies
