Hi all, I filled out my application and submitted already but worried I did a part wrong. Give details of employment undertaken during the 10 year period before the invitation to lodge this application. Is the applicant claiming points for this employment? No Is this employment related to the nominated position? Yes Has the applicant been employed overseas in their nominated occupation or a closely related occupation at a skilled level, immediately before invitation to lodge this application? Yes Duration of overseas Less than 3 years in the past 10 years I put Yes as it was linked to my nominated position but not claiming points and it wasn't assessed by AITSL. Do I have to gather evidence now due to me putting yes? Thanks

Mackay is regional and therefore you could for a 491. However accountant isn’t on the skilled list for QLD unfortunately

Yeah you can take your family on a sponsored (482 visa). These visa’s are hard to get (companies don’t usually sponsor people) and it theoretically can lead to PR but it’s not guaranteed and a massive risk (you’d usually go home after the visa expires). Yes the job needs to be on the skilled list.

I don’t quite understand... Why would you get a job offer from Sydney when you’re applying for a 491 in SA? If you get a offer from NSW you’d need to apply for a NSW visa (or a 482) but you can’t work in Sydney on a 491

That’s pretty much. Unless you have enough points for 189 (so difficult to get that one) Just remember some states require you to already either work or have a position lined up for 491.

You can only claim based on your skills assessment. Just leave that diploma out or you can mention it on your EOI if it doesn’t adjust the points

Get another email address and make an EOI

So you’re only option is to get another 482.. you can change to 491/190 if and when you get invited.. it’s a horrible situation, I do feel for you!

You can’t work on a tourist visa
