  1. So i applied yesterday, husband did his separately and i added my sons name to my application as he's under 18. How on earth can i provide the information they request about flights (havent booked yet) details of address for quarantine, food, number of rooms etc....how we will support ourselves, rates and utility bills, residential address... How can i when you find out the hotel you stay in when you arrive! We will be staying with my brother after quarantine, do i provide his address, rates, utilities etc? Is that what thry mean? We havent booked flights yet as our house hasnt exchanged yet, dont want to risk anything at the moment. Other people have managed to get there pass with partner visa, somewhere to stay etc, this doesn't seem fair and husbands visa needs activating! I've really had enough of all this stress now. I don't think we will ever be able to make the move during these hard times, how can I contact immi from UK to tell them we cant travel because of the g2g pass and hope they will extend his initial entry date next year? Does anyone have a number please? Thank you.
  2. No not that I have seen? X
  3. Alot of people are getting confused with the pass. It states on the G2G pass website that anyone over the age of 18 must apply for a pass to enter WA whether from overseas or interstate, under 18's can go on either parent application. If you are just going to Australia but NOT WA, then passes are not required. I suppose plan B would be to activate in another state, but he will have to pay for quarantine too, then if we all go at a later time, have to pay for quarantine again and that's just not possible financially, so not in a win win situation! We are going to apply and hope for the best. Xx
  4. Thanks Marisa for the reply. Unfortunately another state is not an option as it would just complicate things even further. I'm just going to apply for the passes and see what happens. My concern though is whether or not my husband goes to activate his visa will still be at risk because he still needs to go to Australia to activate and if they refuse the pass, then he would lose his visa status, so they must be able to let him in on the grounds of his visa activation surely?? There must be many more people in our sutuation who need to activate Partner Visas, if there stopping people doing this then they shouldn't be granting Visa's at the moment.
  5. Anyone please do you have any information on the G2G pass please? it would seem that anyone with a Partner Visa and emigrating could have the pass rejected due to it being classed as non essential travel, but what if visa hasn't been activated yet? Is that classed as non essential travel then when youve paid $7000 for the visa?
  6. I have just been reading a facebook page for the G2G pass and I am extremely worried that many, many people are having difficulty entering WA even if they do not live in Australia, but are citizens etc..... Some people are saying they have had to apply twice or more for the pass because it keeps getting rejected and some people have flights booked and may not be able to fly! Rejections are because not submitting enough evidence or documentation? What is it that is required then in terms of documents etc..., Our house sale is going through and we could be exchanging and completing in 4-6 weeks, so if we apply for the passes and they get rejected for whatever reason, how on earth can we move to Australia? Once we move out of our home, we are hoping to fly asap after, but now we don't want to book flights incase the passes are rejected!! With international arrivals to WA restricted, it seems it's getting harder and harder to migrate. My husbands Partner Visa could now be a waste of time and money, he may not even be able to activate it if we cant get passes and flights, then what?? People who already live in Australia but are abroad for what ever reason, are freaking out because there G2G passes keep getting rejected and they need to get home!!! What chance do we have now? I am so stressed i literally feel like I'm going to have a breakdown! Is anyone else struggling with G2G passes??
  7. Hi Sunseeker, Did you all have to apply for G2G passes to be able to fly to Australia? Hope your settling in well!
  8. I'm just going through the form online and it doesn't state what documemts have to be uploaded, apart from evidence of identity, but in the form of Birth certificate etc? ...... Also, on the first page, it gives a box to write anything to support your application? What sort of things should I write about? Many thanks!! Xx
  9. I've been trying to find a thread where stamp duty was a topic, can't find it. I recently emailed an estate agent to ask a few things but never replied, so not helpful at all! Just wanted to know if it is paid on established houses as a first time buyer? We are not really keen on building. Is there any help to buy first time for established homes? Thank you. Xx
  10. Probably around 10,000 (depending on exchange rate at the time) will be a used car. Is John Hughes a reputable seller? X
  11. Probably just a saloon/hatchback type of car to start with.
  12. Just talking today about buying cars in Australia, can anyone recommend cheap, reliable makes and the ones to avoid? Many thanks!! Xx
  13. Also, when we transfer our funds, even if we are still in UK whilst we do it, are we liable to pay tax on it in Australia? I was told if we provide an Australian address, then we can provide our TFN and we won't be taxed? Is this correct? Can anyone please confirm if you have experienced this? Thanks so much xx
  14. Thank you, could you recommend any please?
  15. Hi, Just wanted feedback please from anyone who has transferred a large sum of money (a house sale) through Moneycorp, or anyone similar? Is the money definitely secure/guaranteed etc?? ..... Many thanks! Xx
  16. Oh that's a worry! Havent the passengers had there temperatures checked before boarding the flight?? I thought that was what had to be done anyway? This will have serious consequences for future arrivals into Australia.
  17. We shipped all of our belongings back in 2012 and had a 20ft container, was packed full to the brim, used John Mason's but no insurance. Took a risk but everything was ok, if i remember, only the odd glass broken, no major damage at all. Not sure this time if we will insure, it is risky not too but we have nice things and a couple of decent bikes etc.....so will start looking into it at some stage.
  18. Grateful for all the replies! Xx
  19. Thanks Lavers. I'm assuming you have paid separately for the phone?
  20. Can anyone recommend reasonably priced mobile phone providers in Australia please? We have just checked with Telstra online and very expensive! Are there cheaper companies who offer good deals that include the phone or is sim only the cheapest option? Many thanks. Xx
