  1. Thanks to everyone who has helped me out on this forum. A lot of you have been real life savers and have reduced the doubt and uncertainty that comes during this process.
  2. Hi all Got a direct grant on Monday !!!!! Applied 8 December, ied of 23 August. 189 visa. Looking forward to ticking another box on the arrivals card when I fly over in June [emoji4]
  3. Hi Christina First of all, thanks for setting this thread up – its really useful to hear some encouraging stories given how long the wait has been. I submitted what I believe to be a decision ready application on 8 December 2017 for an Accountant 189 visa. Its encouraging to hear that November applications are getting some traction. Fingers crossed! Andrew
  4. Phew! Am relieved to hear that. Thanks for clarifying
  5. Haven’t been able to see that “information provided” button anywhere on my iPad or iPhone view. Have just logged in via lap top as well and “that” button doesn’t show. Bit worried that I am missing that button but hope that as I am not providing further information in response to a co request and am simply doing my first application and upload, it means the button doesn’t show #nottookeenontheseirrationalvisaworries
  6. Just logged in on phone in order to find the same screen you had and my page didn’t have the “information provided” section at the bottom - my page finished at the end of the application history section. Does the information provided section only come up once your application moves into the “currently being assessed” stage or if you are asked to provide further documents? When I look at my “attach documents” section all of the 42 documents I have uploaded show as “received” and have a green tick and my application status also shows as “received “ on the main page. Fingers crossed this means my application is simply waiting in the big “applications to be processed pile” at dibp towers :0
  7. Hi all Just wanted to join the thread and say this is one of the most accountant friendly threads I have seen on a forum so well done for getting amongst the accountancy relevant chat! I did my skills assessment over the U.K. Summer and it was a painful experience given the admin/paperwork load I had to get through and that is before talking about the English tests that you have to sit. Be assure that You will get there in the end with the skills assessment and it will be worth it when you get to the end of the process but remember that it is a long old process and at some points you just have to keep the faith that it will all work out. I submitted my application on 8 December and now am waiting for a response. It’s been 6 weeks now but I know it could be a lot longer. If I can help with any questions then please feel free to ask and I’ll answer as best I can. Cheers Andy
  8. Hi Am in similar boat to Lothar.... Submitted application and uploaded all documents including front loading all items possible on 8 December 2017 for a 75 points Accountant 189 visa. My initial expectations were that it could all be done within 2 months/by early February 2018 but alas it appears from forums that I have read that it may be a while before a response comes in. Can you advise more on this button that you have to press once documents are uploaded? I’m pretty sure that I have done the required here (uploaded the documents, named the file, then clicked the button at the bottom of that page with the documents showing as received on the main upload page) but as with all of this visa stuff I am paranoid that i have done something wrong so if you can advise further on the ‘button’ you are referring to that would be awesome! If I hear any news on my end, I’ll be sure to update on here. Cheers Andy
  9. Put the hard yards in and get yourself 20 points for English language. Then with 80 points you should get invited pretty quick if there are spaces left for accountants this year. My understanding is that 70 points won’t get you very far as there will regularly be people with 75 points who I think will generally always be in front of you in the queue.
  10. Not many people on here reporting successful grants of visas lately. Is this because people aren’t putting their grant details up on the forum or that there are few grants happening at the moment?
  11. Hi Am not sure how much of the annual accounting or auditing capacity has been used up. Maybe check a few of the forums to try and find this info. Iscah I think is another forum/source which has proved helpful. Many people told me that I needed 75 points to get a prompt invitation as an accountant so I don’t think that 70 points will get you a timely invite as an accountant. I didn’t enquire of anyone what was required in terms of points for an auditor so maybe someone else can help on this. How does your 70 points stack up? Maybe you can get more by doing English test? Cheers A
  12. Not sure what you mean by *all* documents..... I have literally just uploaded everything I had so 40 separate uploads - fingers crossed that will suffice!
  13. Ok cool - I’m glad someone has now answered my question on the cv side of things. I’ll get one uploaded in the next few days. I’ve had my skills assessment done which covers off the employment/work experience side of things so that paperwork along with all my work references and 13 years of payslips (4 per year) should hopefully cover that off [emoji51][emoji51] Thanks again for your responses - really appreciate them!
  14. Aside from profession seems like we’re in similar boats then I do have work experience so that should help! I have frontloaded everything too. The only thing I haven’t sent which they mention on the website is a copy of my cv but no-one else has mentioned submitting that so I’ve taken a pass on that one . Hopefully Christmas doesn’t get in the way of my visa coming through quickly. Thanks for your response - much appreciated A
  15. Do people normally upload their CV as part of their character reference when applying for a visa? The DIBP website says you can and I have a recent copy to hand but wanted to see the consensus before I offer up this document. Am just irrationally concerned (without any cause whatsoever) that this could give them a reason to reject my application. Cheers A
  16. So helpful - thanks for helping to save my sanity! Cheers A
  17. Hi all I have now received my invitation to apply for a 189 visa and am all ready and raring to submit and upload once I have the necessary $ in my aussie bank account. I’ve looked for where I need to upload the various necessary documents but can’t find the area of the immi account that you upload documents into….. Does the uploading area/facility only appear once you have submitted your application and paid the $3670? Cheers A
  18. Hi all Submitted EOI on 14 October 2017 (75 points accountant) and am waiting for an invite now. Does anyone know when the next invitation round is due? Also, has anyone had an invite for November yet? I thought an invite round would come about today but haven't seen or heard anything anywhere. Fingers crossed someone can enlighten me! Cheers Andy
  19. Can anyone shed any light on the following part of the above forum for me? Second question.... on form 80, they ask for a complete employment history - what extent have other people gone to when completing this part of the form? Many thanks A
  20. Hi all Just thinking ahead re bridging visas and wanted to hear thoughts from others so I am prepared and in the know for when the time comes. I am from the UK and am currently on an e-visitor visa which expires on 15 July 2018. I have two trips to NZ planned at present so that I can reset my 90 day counter on this visa and stay within the rules of the visa until at least 31 March 2018 – first trip is 20 November (2 days) and second trip is 28 December (6 days). I have submitted my EOI for a 189 visa as Accountant General with 75 points. Should an invitation arrive, I am pretty much ready to upload everything and submit the application, however, I don’t want an application submission to scupper my travel plans at New Years. So, as I understand it, at the point of applying for the 189 visa, I will be automatically granted Bridging Visa A (BVA) which allows me to stay until my 189 application processing is completed. However, this visa will NOT become active until my e-visitor visa expires. As far as I see it then, I can continue to travel on my e-visitor visa as originally planned and be safe in the knowledge that come 15 July 2018, my e-visitor visa ceases and I can stay in Australia on the BVA which replaces/supercedes the e-visitor. Obviously, if and when I get granted the 189 visa, I can simply forget about the BVA and e-visitor (I think). I am concerned that my above understanding is incorrect meaning that I cannot leave the country unless I get Bridging Visa B (BVB). Having my current e-visitor visa replaced by a BVA would not be the worst thing in the world but would scupper my NYE plans and make it hard for me if I urgently needed to go home to the UK for a family emergency. Furthermore, when it comes to rights to work, I understand from one website that once I have applied for the skilled migration visa (s189) I can work in Australia if I am on a BVA or BVB. This would be excellent news but I am not sure my understanding is correct so would appreciate someone giving me some advice here. Lastly, re this right to work query, I think I would need to find a way of voiding/ceasing/cancelling my current e-visitor visa as that visa is what I understand to be the active visa and this does not allow me to work (ps I don't think I can do this as cancelling my current e-visitor visa would cause my "bridge" to collapse as the bridging visa would disappear with my e-visitor visa). Many thanks in advance for any help/advice offered! A
  21. Thanks nemesis. That’s super helpful! Sent from my iPhone using PomsinOz
  22. Do the bank statements have to be the ones that correspond with the pay slips that you provide?
