  1. is there any drawback of receiving IMMI commencement mail? will it delay the processing with extra external checks?
  2. I can't really say a fixed figure as that is variable and depends on the duration of the visit. But below is form of financial evidence that can be shown. Evidence of sufficient funds, such as personal bank statements, pay slips, audited accounts, taxation records or credit card limit. But apart from this, applicant would also have show proof or ties back to their home country and their intent to return back. https://www.border.gov.au/Trav/Visa-1/600-/Visitor-visa-(subclass-600)-Tourist-Stream-document-checklist Other information to show that you have an incentive and authority to return to your home country, such as: a letter from your employer stating your intention to return to your job evidence of enrolment at a school, college or university in your home country evidence of immediate family members in your home country evidence of your visa or residence status in your home country, and your right to return evidence of property or other significant assets owned in your home country.

  4. Does being unemployed during 189 visa process have any adverse effect on the application? I've been unemployed since last 4 months and lodge my application on August 10th after receiving the invite. Anyone was in similar situation? Please share your experience
  5. I see some people getting grant in a month after lodging their applications and then i see people waiting for grant since few months. Don't understand how grants are given out in a random manner.
  6. 70 points was the cut off for last 189 round, it not a fixed requirement. Once 70 pointers gets cleared, then there is hope for 65 pointers But there are plenty of 65 pointers that are waiting from Feb, March, April, May, June and July. Even for 190, people are waiting since Jan. Best possible way to secure a fast invite for this pro rata occupation is to increase your points, otherwise long waiting time.
  7. DIBP accepts both variants of IELTS, but general is easier than academic. Listening and Speaking module are same on both test, Reading and Writing module are different and bit harder on Academic.
  8. What does Pomsinoz means? What does the name of this forum represents?
  9. Invites are going to 70+ pointers and pro rata occupations are sucking up most of the invites. Hopefully things should equalize after first or second round of August.
  10. Below is my experience with PTE preparation and exam. I finally took my PET-A exam and received following score 86/84/90/87.I did not expect the above score in READING because time management was a nightmare. It was like I'm running against the time and it put me under immense pressure where my concentration took a dip. I felt like I was guessing and after the test I was feeling down and out because I thought I messed it up pretty bad. Nevertheless, I got pretty happy and excited after seeing my score as now it enables me to claim 20 points.Test center was pretty good, I had 5 people with me and there was good enough gap between the cubicles. I was not at all distracted. Staff was pretty approachable and professional, kudos to them. For speaking and writing preparation, i just concentrated on the mock test to understand the scoring pattern. I bought gold test kit twice and repeat practiced on the same tests to find my shortcomings. I figured in writing if i get 90 on written discourse and 79+ on vocab and spelling and 65+ on grammar then I can secure 80+ on writing easily. For speaking, it's completely on pronunciation and oral fluency. On 4 attempts of mock test, i was getting 90 on pronunciation and between 80 to 83 in fluency, and mind you, I was not focusing much on content structure in retell lecture and describe image. I applied the same technique on the real exam and got 90 overall (90 pron n 81 oral).
  11. Hi, I need some help with my PTE mock test result. My question is regarding the writing score as i received 68 but I am aiming for 79+. If i look at the enabling skill, i got pretty bad score for Spelling and Grammar. Are these two the only culprit? How do i know what score i got for the content I wrote. Which enabling skill parameter is responsible for this? Really appreciate if someone can answer this. Thanks in advance!!
  12. AFAIK, Australia's assessing authorities make use of CEP (Country Education Profiles) to compare different country's qualification against their own. In Australia, 3-4 years programs are considered as Degree and if in CEP system, Ireland's NFQ is equivalent to AFQ then title of the certificate will not matter. Just to understand what CEP looks like, see attachment (example of how Kyrgyzstan education profile is mapped against Australia's)
  13. Electronic Engineer is pro rata occupation due to high number of applicants. With 60 points, there will be a very long wait for you to get an invite. If you want to increase your chances then you would need to improve your IELTS score to 8. Also you need to get skill assessment done by Engineering Australia.
