  1. Congratulations!!! May I ask when did you pay for your visa? Or lodge ? If they are the same - we are still waiting
  2. But some call lodging when you complete paperwork including Requested information such as medicals and police checks and some call it lodging when you pay. I paid 6 moths ago but only did medicals 2 months ago
  3. Hi everyone I’m a teacher We paid for our visa for NSW 190 on January 1st Asked for medicals and police checks and form 80 in April and still waiting ?
  4. May I ask at which point you counted from when grosses after 7 months? From when u paid ? Or when asked for /completed medicals ? We paid back in January - requested form 80 and medicals and police checks in April - still waiting
  5. Hello, We paid for our 190 visa on 1st January 2018 but didn’t get asked for medicals until April. The current processing time is 6-10 months. From your experience was this time from paying or from medical date? Anxiously waiting news! Thank you
  6. Yes please that would be great. Her temperament inside the house is great but she wears a muzzle on walks as she struggles with small yappy dogs
  7. Hi everyone, Has anyone heard of needing a reference from a behaviourist for having dogs in a rental property ?
  8. Get your English’s tests done and then you’ll know your points a bit better and get assessed yourself if you think it’ll make a big impact. My teaching assessment took 3 months to come through so get going if you’re serious
  9. I had 60 points for 189 and 65 for 190 and I heard only 70-75 points were getting invite for 189
  10. Hi You can only add partner skill if it’s a) on the list and b) if you have it assessed which costs time and money so don’t do it if you don’t need the points in my opinion.
  11. How many points does she have? Be wary of just sitting in a pool of applicants and not getting picked as like I said we still haven’t been picked for 189 but just sent final paperwork yesterday for 190. So for my partner who was secondary applicant all that has ever been asked for was his English tests I believe. On our last bits of paperwork that we submitted we had to both list all schooling (not grades) all employment and all travel dates as destinations for last 10 years !
  12. Yes we are heading out April 5th ish. I’m a school teacher so have to wait for holidays. Worse comes to to worse we’ll head out Feb half term but not ideal as we wanted to make a holiday out of it
  13. I should add that we were applied or 189 and 190 and have been invited for 190. Still nothing for 189 and we applied for them back in June
  14. Hi, can only give you our own experience. We mentally battled for 12 years about whether or not to go and last February took the plunge and sent off for some assessments. I’m a teacher and my husband is a plumber. Because at the time he was self employed and it was very difficult and expensive to get him assessed we decided to go with me as the lead applicant as a teacher I only had to provide certificates and a reference to prove my points as a teacher and we applied for 2 visas to See which one we got picked for first. All I can say is that we were on the ball from last Feb and only paid for visas January 1st. That’s how long the entire process has taken. I always believed that until we paid the final bill (January 1st) that any amount of English tests and assessment I could swallow if I later changed my mind but thank god we started when we did but of course I now wish we started earlier as we are still looking at 6-8 months for the visas despite paying for them . You both need to log on to the points based system and see who gets more points for what visa and when one of u starts to lose points I.e with age. We went for state sponsored and independent and I hear it’s a very long wait for independent (we still haven’t been picked for that one) Any way I can help - direct message me
  15. My understanding is 12 months to the date of medicals or police checks , whichever is first. We took our medicals on 10th April so we have until 10th April 2019 to land - I believe
  16. So we are landing in Australia next April to activate our visa for a short holiday and then returning to the UK for a few months to sort things before heading out permanently in August/September 2019. But what I’m wondering is what happens when we get to Aus for the first time with our new permanent visas - do we get interviewed? Grilled? Lol. Thank you
  17. Hi. You have to use very specific places for your medicals. I think there’s one in reading area and one in Kensington. You can’t just go anywhere but the info is online. To give you a heads up on time - we were invited late last year paid on the 1.1.18 and still haven’t been asked to take our medicals and when I log on it’s saying 9-12 months. Depending on how quickly you can move out there be careful doing your medicals too soon. Once police checks and medicals are through you get a year to land from that date. If you do this too early you are shooting your self in the foot if your visa comes through in February 2019 and you medicals expire in March!
  18. Hi everyone. We have submitted and paid for our visa but haven’t yet done medicals. Someone once said to wait to be asked instead of just doing them ourselves and submitting result. I’m just getting worried the more time goes on (2 months now) we may miss our chance or run out of time if they don’t actually ask? Hope I’m making sense
  19. We have paid , waiting to be called for medicals. I’m not an accountant though.
  20. I’ve heard the wait is long but I also heard that accountants weren’t getting invited. I applied for 189 & 190 in June. I still haven’t heard from 189 but got our 190 invite in September so perhaps look there too
  21. Hi guys, My hubby and I are thinking of activating our visa and then returning to the uk to sell the house just to buy more time. anyone know if our infant has to arrive to activate as well or if we can leave him at home? Only thinking that we could easily manage popping over for the weekend to save money but a two year old wouldn’t manage. Thank you
