  1. Guys thanks for your concern re pets, we aren’t leaving until November 2019 and the animals have all had rabies and will re do them before they run out in April ; we have started all that.
  2. Only one dog , 2 cats but hoping to use a migrant agent to help with that on the other side. Renting the house doesn’t leave enough capital to secure income to help as we were advised to leave an extra in an account here for repairs and issues. Animals have had initial stuff done but we have to re do some stuff but all in hand.
  3. I’m a teacher so I can’t even register as a teacher without a NSW address
  4. God I don’t know anything about capital gains??? Mainly because we are looking for jobs once we get there . we need the financial backing, to get a car , pay for our bond , few months rent. We have a lot of money in our house and not a whole lot of savings. I’m paying off debt before we go so doing that and saving large amounts aren’t an option
  5. Hi guys, We have our visas, we want to sell our house before we go (leaving before it’s sold isn’t an option) but we have 3 animals and one child and nowhere to go once it’s sold. In laws aren’t an option and I don’t want to pay for a 6 month short term rental - what did you all do ? In an ideal world we’d complete on our house and fly the next day! Ha ha dreams dreams dreams
  6. Hi , we we are heading over in April to activate the visas and look at areas to live outside Sydney. I had 65 points in the end I think. We lodged last July and were granted in June this year.
  7. Hi guys, ill try try and answer anything as best as I can. I have a 190 visa for NSW tht was granted in June. I am a qualified teacher with a PGCE in Early years from Reading university but all my teaching experience has been in SEN across 3 key stages. I never got offered a visa for 189 despite all my efforts but a 190 came fairly quickly and my currently my understanding is that I just have to live and work in NSW for 2 years once we get there but I will clarify this if anyone is interested. In in terms of evidence I used whatever I could, my employer did a letter, my contract start date and I think you can even use payslips. But the more solid the evidence, the better. I don’t know about teaching language.
  8. We paid for our visa in 1st January 2018 , medicals were April 2018. Visa grant last week . We put in EOI in June 2017
  9. We paid 1st January , contacted late March for medicals - was granted on Tuesday so yours could be any day now! ??
  10. Yes they were heartbroken and unfortunately we still get emotional blackmail comments and they made it very clear they won’t visit. Just be prepared for the worst , reassure them that you’ll be back if it doesn’t work and you have to try or you’ll always regret it. I’ve found that giving them ‘arguments’ that they can’t argue against has helped such as Australia being such a new and developing country will provide excellent opportunities for our son, salaries appear to be better , a better work life balance etc. We now need to tell them it’s been granted and I’m expecting the comments to step up a notch . My MIL looks after our son two days a week so it’s very hard for her. My parents are very supportive so that helps!
  11. Hi I know that I need to work in NSW for 2 years but wasn’t sure if that applies to him as well. I need to check VEVO I think
  12. Thank you! I was actually in the same boat as you! We didn’t tell my husbands family because we knew they wouldn’t react well, we made a commitment to tell them when we paid for the visa and we did and they are still incredibly upset -now we have to tell them we got accepted [emoji30] All I can say is be prepared for a wait, get your house ready for selling, sort your loft out (ours is chaos) and don’t buy any more furniture!
  13. Yes that’s all there but nothing strictly stating the rules and retirements of visa etc
  14. Thank you! Best of luck with your wait! Very lucky to have got in before they capped it. I think having a toddler and full time jobs kept us busy and wondering if it would ever really happen and now having to sell a house and pack up and ship animals etc I wish we had more Time!
  15. Hi, NSW EOI was lodged July 2017 Visa paid 1st January 2018 Medicals requested March 2018 Final submission of paperwork April 2018 Grant today!
  16. Hi everyone, I’ve been sponsored to work in NSW on 190. We were thinking about heading to Byron Bay. My hubby could make good money in Gold Coast and it’s commutable so I was just wondering if he’s restricted to work in NSW as well, does anyone know ?
  17. Wow that’s advanced! I’m surprised he email didn’t come along with any guidelines or rules!
  18. Thank you! We are in the UK we have a date by which we have to enter. Just over a year from medical. But was surprised there’s no information about the visa
  19. Hello everyone, So I checked my email today whilst on a school trip and that email we’ve been waiting for was just sitting there! Visa granted!!!! My question is - what next? I read the email but I thought we’d have to had over our passports for the visa to go in but it mentions nothing about that? Thank you!
