So you applied offshore then came on 600 for 6 months? Is the plan to keep renewing 600 so you can stay here until your 143 is granted?

I did, l had a 600 valid for 3yrs . I came for 12months then went home for 6mths am now at the end of my second 12Months. Will apply for another 600 this week hoping my 143 comes through soon. Am at very final stages since March.

They may only grant 3mths 600 this time who knows!

Although I can’t leave Oz to activate the 143 when offered  at least it will be nice to know it’s there ready and waiting.

I can see how important it is to get the ‘no further stay’ condition removed, as even a new three-month tourist visa would give you some breathing space. What about NZ, do they have open flights now? This would at least save you having to travel back here with all the problems and cost of quarantine.

NZ not open to us. If I have to go home it would cost about $10000 dollars to get out and back and quarantine 🤬

Sorry I was rushing to get a message to you and probably didn’t explain properly. I just meant instead of messing around changing the no further stay clause then asking you to apply for another 600 just to keep you legal, surely they could see that it would be easier and quicker simply to ask for 2 nd  Vac and grant as soon as payment received. Especially as you are already onshore and trying to avoid become “illegal” as it were!

I know I’d be very upset in this situation. Do you have an agent or doing it yourself?

They won’t grant as I’m onshore.  When I pay for it they will just say let us have travel plans when I have them.  Like they did with someone else previously on here.  Will be nice to know “it’s there waiting”  but doesn’t help my current situation.  No agent.

Kath can you not contact your case officer and explain - will be less work for them to request 2nd Vac  and then issue grant of 143 than change status on current 600  then decide on a further 600?

I might have to in the next week or so. Not sure how it can change status of the 600 though ? It’s the dam no further stay clause that’s the problem  Another forum member said it took them 4 weeks to get the clause waived !

Don’t worry @Kathss56 I’m sure yours won’t be too long now. Are you still in Australia?

I am, but I have to leave 12 months is up 23 Dec and 600 visa expires. I have the 12 in 18 months condition on it.
I have applied for the “no further stay “ clause to be removed ( if you remember I had every condition going attached my 600)😕....then apply for another 600, am panicking!!!

Fair point, but there was some useful information there, which I didn’t really know a year + after getting PR,. The only place to post would be in the health thread and I wonder how many prospective parent visa applicants would see it.

I won’t post again as I have PR, good luck to everyone still in the queue.

Yes you must continue.please.. In the 4+ years I have been on here, It ALWAYS veers off topic every so often. When it does the topic is always aimed at us parents, who often know the answer and are a captive audience on this thread only!  No harm done in my mind. I have been grateful for ALL the info!
@ramot we need people like you!

We have just submitted our 143 application (60 & 61 years old) & only in the last week through this forum have we come to know the reality of the long wait. Had no idea it would be so long, we have an agent & also have done a lot of research

If you want to move over sooner at least you can do a 3 or 5 yr 870 temp parent visa. I was too near the end of process to bother with this

Hi everyone, I think I may have posted this question in the wrong thread (timeline thread) by accident but I am a newbie poster hoping for some advice with regard to CPV 143, which we applied for in April 2016.  We have completed all of our paperwork, health checks etc and are now waiting in limbo for 2nd Vac request like many others. Sadly though during this pandemic, our small business has been decimated, and we have had to rely on our savings, as we were not eligible for government support or furlough, which means we no longer have the full funds available to make payment when requested and will have to rely on the sale of our house.  Would anyone know whether you can request an extension of time to pay for the 2nd Vac when it is eventually requested or must payment be made within 28 days of the request?

You get 28 days to pay but you can request to extend for another 28 days. Beyond this I’m unsure   Good luck

9 pandemic, we are unable to change the date.

The first entry date condition is a legislative requirement and is attached to permanent and provisional visas granted offshore.  It is not possible to waive the condition or vary the date, and visa holders who breach the first entry date condition may be subject to visa cancellation.

We are not legally able to amend visa conditions and existing notifications to visa holders.

However, in the majority of cases, visa holders who are unable to make their first entry by the required date may be allowed to enter Australia at a later date, provided their visa is still valid and there is no other reason to consider cancellation of the visa.

This consideration cannot occur until travel plans have been made.  When you are able to travel to Australia, you should contact the Department of Home Affairs’ office which granted your visa and you will be assisted with additional advice at that time. Refer to the Home Affairs website for up-to-date contact details for the relevant office responsible for each country.

At what point do we get in touch, I have had my flight cancelled for December 29th by emirates, I cannot rebook until January, our entry date is supposed to be January 27th.

See if anything changes here, they are currently talking about increasing fights allowed in so by then they may not cancel so many flights  I would give them 6 weeks notice otherwise with it being around Xmas time. Good luck !

@nitz & @AlwaysVet Did anyone check with dept of home affairs, if we can travel to Australia once we have been granted visa 143? Are applicants who are granted visa 143 categorized under Permanent resident which allows them to travel to australia or are we still under the people who are restricted to enter australia?

It is on your VEVO account status, check it says that you are PR

Hi everyone. I'm totally new to this as in I've never posted anything anywhere ever before so please bear with me.  I came across this forum by chance a few weeks ago and have spent hours reading and catching up with everyone's progress. We are in the same position as many of you - we have completed all our paperwork and checks and are now waiting in limbo. We were wondering whether we are safe to assume by now that we will eventually get the visa and that we would have heard by now if they intended to turn us down for any reason. I would like to get the house on the market now and be as ready as possible when we finally hear something but my husband is a bit more cautious and thinks we should wait till we know for definite and then set about trying to sell up. I would be interested to hear anyone else's views

There are still applicants from Jan/Feb/Mar 16 etc still not got 2nd vac request. I would personally wait longer.Hey...we’ve waited ages anyway!!  When I did sell my home it was all done and dusted within 3mths, if that happens to you where would you go?  Also heavily reduced flights to Oz and quarantine still in force.
