Things are getting tougher.  Just heard from ABC and 7news that Australians are told (advised) not to go oversea and the ones who are oversea arranged to get home.  I don't know how much impact would be on us who are waiting or have to make a travel out and in or to enter Australia to get visa validation.

This is my concern. Awaiting 2nd vac request. Im onshore so more of a problem than being offshore. I obviously want to stay in Oz for now. At least offshore you get 1yr to activate whereas I will have the 28 day condition. When I receive 2nd vac request will email them. Although wondering if they will slow down issuing it because of the ongoing situation.

  2. @gafuk good to hear you are doing fine! Maybe the 143 was more attractive when it was only up to 2-3yrs wait but now it may stretch to 5-6-7yrs for some it’s a kick in the teeth when your getting older and paying a large amount.  I’m still glad I’ve gone for it though as not having PR when you are older is a bit of an uneasy feeling for me.  Who knows, if in a few years time, you may get sent home because you have become a burden to Oz financially through serious illnesses etc.,  who could cope with that scenario when you have built a life here.

I have no idea tbh 😞 pretty worried

I would be slightly worried if you say you work a few hours, does this mean to them  you are not totally independent? Might be worth spending a small amount of money for advice from a registered migration agent as none of us truly know. Otherwise you will just have to wait for Immi to approach you/your parents for relevant documentation etc.,

  4. @SusieRoo I agree another page was ridiculous just because some were having strop about dates etc. After all it was relevant to this thread! Now some may miss out on advice, tips as may not have seen this page. I have blocked a few sarcastic quick tempered members. So if members are reading this post then I think you’re ok Haha.

Really hope you here something soon. Can’t understand it. 👍🤞🤞

To be honest it’s not really enforceable. All entrants will be leaving the airports in cars Trains, buses and taxis etc potentially spreading the virus further if they’re carrying it. How can they enforce holiday makers in hotels to self isolate?? People who are only there for 3 weeks won't do it.

They will rely on other people telling them that someone has come into Oz I suspect

It’s just been announced by PM that all entrants to Australia will have to isolate for 14 days. !

Yes just read that. Trouble is some won’t! If I go out to activate visa and then come  back, I will then have to hide away in my bedroom away from my family whom I live with for 14 days. 😩😩

Yes, the free movement of people into countries such as Australia is a moving target at the moment.

Witness the New Zealand PM's announcement this afternoon.

If you're coming from the UK you should be OK, but don't hold me to it ...

    Best regards.

Makes me wonder if they will still stick to 28 day rule for anyone onshore to leave to activate visa. Who knows!?!?

HI, I HAVE BOOKED MY FLIGHT TO SYDNEY THIS MONTH END ON 31st MARCH.

CAN ANYONE PLEASE TELL THAT AUSTRALIA WILL ALLOW US TO DISEMBARK FLIGHT LOOKING AT COVID-19  SCARE???

I’m afraid you will just have to wait, as rules/advice changes daily. Look on health.gov.au for their updates. You could also contact pvc1team and ask.
I was looking to fly out of Oz soon to activate my 143 but unsure yet as what will happen. I intend to contact them for advice nearer the time. At the moment they advise you not to leave Oz except for essential travel but nothing about anyone incoming from the U.K.

Thank you but the text said it was rejected as nothing received by them and they have confirmed on the phone they have got it, so its just a case of them missing it. not sure how. Im sure this has happened to others in the past, I can remember seeing a couple of posts

Yes it has happened to quite a few. It always gets sorted. Some choose to fill the SS351  form in rather than relying on a phone call

Waiting patiently for AOS acceptance letter, Son in law gets a text  on 11th March saying AOS rejected as not paid in time. He goes to centrelink, waiting 90 minutes to be told that he needs to ring AOS processing centre in Tasmania as paperwork is on system! Centrelink can't call as they are now closed due to time difference. Son in law rings 1st thing on the 12th, waits 80 minutes on hold (after being cut off once after 30 minutes on hold). Told it will be reviewed and he will get a call back before close of business on the 13th, no phone call. centrelink are a nightmare

Did he upload the BG request letter as well as bond certificate ?

AOS approved?  Did you get something from centerlink?  My son lodged AOS in Feb and has heard nothing  - should I be concerned?

Like everything else in this process - all parts of it are done out of date order!.But also your application date is after mine and yet you were asked for further info weeks before me. So who knows maybe that’s why?

The only thing we did a bit different was when we uploaded bond certificate to Centrelink we didn’t choose “other documents” then “Financial” like most see to have done.
We chose “Centrelink form“ then scanned the code at top of their form. It then said upload bank certificate,  so unsure if that helped speed it up.
Pvc team also tell you to send copy of approval to them which we have today.
