    Hi Kathss56,

Couldn't find the word 'resident' on our visas.  However, our VIVOs say 'RESIDENT" in Visa description and 'Permanent resident' in Visa type.  We just not too sure to travel now.  Maybe wait a little bit longer and make a move when things are a little easier in Melbourne.

Yours are very close to the visa grant.  Hope you get yours soon.  Good luck!

Many thanks, yes I hope so. Only problem being I’m onshore 🤨

Hi Kitty, we are in the same position. Our 2nd VAC was requested yesterday for our 143. We are currently onshore( on a three year 870) and have requested our visa to be granted but expect to be told this can’t be done. Will pay up and wait and see when and where we can travel to validate the visa. Worrying times for everyone.

    I git your message thanks

please let us know when you hear back from them

My daughter has just submitted the application for AOS and they ask that she needs to go into her closest Centrelink to verify her documents and ID. Is anyone at that point now as we not too keen on going into a Centrelink during these times and in addition they give a number to call 132 850 but it doesnt even ring....Any advice would be greatly appreciated

All I can say is my daughter was in and out within 15mins. They didn’t maker her wait in a big queue but directed her elsewhere

she got there just before they opened

Received a request for AOS already - it only took a month from 143 submission. I was also asked to apply for Australian National Police Check as an additional document although I haven't been in the country for more than 12 months. It is easy enough online. Hope you all well and your own personal applications are progressing.

Good news, yes they have been converting them very quickly !

@Alan Collett This is what a mate of mine got when he sent in a request for the 8558 waiver.

If you hold a visa with condition 8558 you should depart Australia before the date on which you will have stayed in Australia for more than 12 months in any 18 month period.

If you are unable to depart Australia before this time for reasons beyond your control however, we do not expect you to apply for a further visa unless you are unable to depart before your visa expiry date.

Your ‘No Further Stay’ waiver request will therefore be prioritised according to the visa expiry date, and not the date on which you will have stayed in Australia for more than 12 months in any 18 month period.

Condition 8558 is not able to be waived, however a breach of this condition under these circumstances will not result in visa cancellation or have any negative consequences for a future visa application.

Last paragraph “under these circumstances “ meaning COVID ?

Thanks.  We will activate our visa when it save to travel.  I understand that QLD and NSW will charge for the quarantine, we're heading to Melbourne.  Of course, other states will soon follow.

Ah well Melbourne having a nightmare again with it all, best stay put for now.  All states charging now. They have reduced number of flights allowed in now. Good luck, you at least have piece of mind it’s gonna happen!

    Hi Nat & Others.
Has anyone here got parents on-shore in Australia and are waiting for the 143 approval final stage?
My Mom is here and we have also submitted all DOCs and have been waiting for CoVid situation to improve so they progress my parents application, but on 29 Aug 2020 she will complete 1year in Australia and needs to leave the country before that date/unless I apply another visa (not sure). Currently she has 600 Tourist Visa which allows her to stay in Australia 1 year on every visit which expires next year in June.
Does anyone have some idea how to go about getting her to stay here in Australia as it isnt safe to travel anywhere at the moment?
    Thanks!

Yes Im onshore ,12mths is up in Dec and have 8558 and 8503  condtion.

I would be planning on the basis your parents do not breach condition 8558.

I anticipate this may well necessitate lodging an application for another visitor visa.

    Best regards.

    Hi Alan,

I have  8558 meaning another 12 months  is up for me in Dec. I also have no further stay condition.

     Visa doesn’t  exp until March21

have paid AoS and have approval. Was awaiting 2nd vac request beg of Mar but sadly it didn’t happen.

would you advise I just apply for another 600 a few weeks before Dec? I don’t want to have to try to fly out , Tried in May to go home then but it was cancelled

    thank you

    kind regards

    Kath

Seen in a facebook that another 143 visa has been granted a few days ago. The applicant was offshore and submitted 103 in Sep 2015, moved to 143 in Oct 2016. They may start again, it's the beginning of the financial year.

All the ones I’ve seen are all converted from another type to a 143.  Not heard of any straight to a 143 since March. Yours is the last one that’s close to finishing that I’ve seen ☹️

Hi....  we had our 143 application acknowledge on 08/11/2016. Just wondering if  anyone here whose 143 application in March or April 2016 has got the request for documents? Reason for asking is wondering if the covid situation has stalled the processing time.

They seem to be  asking applicants up to May/Jun16 for docs. They are still looking at them albeit a bit slower.

    Hi Everyone.
Anyone here has been asked to fill form 815?
    It means

    ****
You must contact the Health Undertaking Service (HUS) within 4 weeks of your arrival in Australia
    ****
I just got a request today for it.

No but at 1pm today  I had a request for colour copy of passport bio page.  It hadn’t been asked for in the original email for further info I received back in Feb. So they are still looking at ours then. 👍

Is this an offshore 143 or an onshore 143 - ie was the 143 visa applicant the holder of a 173 visa?

    Best regards.

Would it normally have the date of first arrival on grant? ie. activate in first 12 months.
Date of birth is strange ?? Bit old for a “dependent” ???
