Hi how longs the processing times to apply for a spouse visa for the uk? We are wanting to come back as soon as possible and I am waiting for my citizenship ceremony in Aus which should be early next year. When should we apply for the visa?( eligible in savings) Can we do this soon or should we wait? What’s the time frame once you get the visa that you need to enter the uk? Thanks

Question again regarding test interview it asks to bring 3 photo id's is his correct? I only have 2. For proof of arrival in Australia is an old passport allowed? Do you need documents for children or only if they are applicants? Do do I need to print and take out my original online application or only the signed declaration? Thanks

How easy is the test? Do they cover everything in the booklet?? How many questions are there? Is it multiple choice?? How many do you have to get right in order to pass??

Question, if I have my test day next month and I am possibly wanting to travel overseas the following month will it all depend if I'm approved or not?? It I don't get approved on the day am I allowed to request to travel in the time I am waiting for a ceromony?? Application date online 1st November 17 Sydney. acknowledgement email- 1st November 17 test day received today 28th May 18 ( test will be June 21st )

Do it! But don't fall in love!! I'm a brit living in aus and I find it so hard being away from family especially now I have a child of my own. I love Australia I love the sunshine, the lifestyle.... but it's so far the travel is so long and expensive after years of visits. I say London is great and a great experience if you were to move there. But if you love your family.... don't fall in love with English man!!! Hah good luck!

You apply online then print the final form to sign and post. but you will need yours and your baby's birth certificate along with parents marriage certificate. I sent my application to my mum in the U.K. Who then sent it on with the document needed to the passport office. Revived all back with new passport 2 weeks later ( in 2016)

Can I ask why people are asked nationality, has someone noticed a pattern in favouring certain nationalities for faster processing times???

What is the deal with comments regarding cancelling overseas trips ? I applied this month and have a trip booked in may which I stated the dates on application. Is there any reason I should worry about this?

Thanks for the info. My partner will need a visa. We are eligible with what savings we have. I thought we shouldn't apply yet as I was under the impression he then had a small time frame to enter the uk? So I thought I need to get my citizenship done first ? as for baby stuff goes I am only just starting to feel like maybe I could have another but I am still scared. I seeked some treatment to conceive but it was not ivf. So hopefully we wouldn't have to go down theta road... though you never know hey .... Also unfortunately ended up having a emergency csection so a home birth is out of the question for me. I do know what you mean about how I could still suffer in the uk. I just felt like as soon as I had my parents come and stay I felt like I was better. My mum has said she would come if I have another i am just naturally a idecisive and a real worrier about everything. I wanted to experience having a baby with my family and friends around but I have to think that maybe an ideal world isn't always that.

Has anyone recently applied for citizenship ? wondering what the resent time frame has been like?

My partner has worked for building company's in a show home as a sales man for 20 years. Commission based and earns between $100-$200k per great . ( It's not the same as real estate.) The uk's way of building : selling new homes etc seems very different over there and I doubt he could get a job doing what he does in aus. What would his options be ? Are the sales jobs in the uk that earn good money ?

I am after some advice as to what to do. I live in Australia with my partner and 2 year old. We have a good job , house and life here but I miss my family dearly and I suffered extreme post natal anxiety and depression when my son was born. I have always said that if we was to have another child we would move back for the support that I would need. I don't know how to go about this. We will be eligible for a visa under savings. But do we try to have a baby here and then look at moving to the U.K. Or do we move and then try ( previous fertility issues ) It's so overwhelming. Any tips or experiences from anyone I would love to hear ... thanks
