  1. Thanks everyone, I don’t think we will have a problem with the area, I’ve often looked online and there seems plenty. I don’t have a credit rating. Left the uk when I was 21 out of home. Will this be an issue? I’ve never rented before or gone through the process so I wouldn’t know what to expected. Do you have to have a job before hand etc?
  2. How easy/ quick will we be able to rent a house when we return to the uk? What do we need to do this? Don’t want to be stuck with family for months on end!
  3. Ps- you can have a good or bad experience when it comes to having a baby anywhere . Everyone has a different exlericece. I had a terrible birth experience here is Aus down to bad care but sometimes these things happen you can’t let that sway you. But I also have wonderful aftercare down to one particular midwife. It’s like luck of the draw
  4. I can’t say what you should do but I’ll tell you my experience, I came to Aus when I was 21 and met my partner. I’m now 30. He has a very good job we have a lovely house friends great lifestyle etc. we had a child which was our dream and wasn’t easy to become pregnant. I was hit with a shock of having terrible post natal depression and a massive part of that was being here alone without my family. 3 years later we have applied to go back to the uk. I’m worried about family as they get older as they don’t have great health and in all honestly I just miss them too much and the distance and expense between us is a lot. I also don’t want to have another child here in Aus where I’ll be alone. And my children have no family. I have waited a year to get my citizenship though before hand. this has set us back and we are going to have to wait longer to have another child but my partner said it was A must for me to get it as I’m sure he may want to come back and so we have the option to return as a family. I understand why you feel the way you do and are in the situation. I hope you figure out what’s best for you good luck
  5. I know it was my threat but I had responses from those who also when through the same process and figured they may be able to help I know it was my threat but I had responses from those who also when through the same process and figured they may be able to help So my partner done the application we got lots of our supporting documents together along with the appendix 2 form. He went for his biometrics appointment in Sydney. They took his passport to send to the uk told him to post the application form himself. And nothing else... said non of the other forms are needed but nobody looked at any of the documents we supplied. So I am confused if there is no need to send them why are they required and surely we need them all to shower our savings etc!

  8. Thanks- our main furniture items like our bed and couch need replacing anyway and our dining table is a 10 seater and way to big for what kind of property we would get. and everything else is aus plug socked although I know can use adapter it would be worthless over there so thinking sell then and get new there. Probably from Argos/ the range/ikea. So it will mainly be personal items and probably my sons bed and drawers. I do wonder if I keep things like his cot and bring it incase baby number 2 happens in the future or just sell and buy there again to give us more space. We do have a lot of de clutter to to!! Did anyone also keep things in storage- either here or in the uk?? my partner has a drum kit and an extensive model car collection that I have no idea what to do with! We would have no room for it and it currently takes up a whole room at home.
  9. Thanks! Did you use a shopping container or cube? So you mind me asking what sort of price It is?
  10. No pets but a cheeky 3 year old
  11. Thanks! Wa shipping better than replacing? Did you not enjoy being back in the uk?
  12. Ok thanks we do have in one account so that’s a relief. Even during the application it doesn’t say anywhere even on tbthe appendix form that we neeed £65,000
  13. We also intend to rent our house out incase we decide to return. So hoping that process won’t be hard
  14. Thanks very much, most major items of our furniture are huge lol like dining table and couch. But thanks for the tip will try to be wise with what we bring. can I also ask as you applied too we finished the online applicatation and have an appointment booked in Sydney, I can’t seem to locate a list of supporting documents we need. The link to the website is very unclear. Any help please???
  15. We have just started the application to return to the uk and my partner thinks we need to allow a year to sell our stuff and rent our house etc? This to me seems excessive. How long did it take others? I was thinking if we are accepted then maybe 6 months is realistic? But a year seems a long time.
  16. Update to my timeline applied 1 November 2017 sydney test- june apprived july ceremony December 13 months in total
  17. Do you go normal doctor for the tb test required for visa??
  18. Just wondering is there a way to find out from concil a rough idea on wait times for cemamony? I was approved in June
  19. Yeah I thought so too but when I was on the info page of the application it didn’t state that figure if £65,000 anywhere like I saw in the past
  20. Thanks very much for the help and info!
  21. I thought the savings amount for a uk spouse visa was £65,000 I can only findit saying online £16,000 can someone confirm if this is correct that it has changed??
  22. A while ago I looked into visas for returning to the uk with my de facto partner and son. We were eligible under having enough savings. I can’t seem to find what visa or where or how to apply? Can anyone give me any info or steer me in the correct direction. Thanks
