  1. I have to agree a little bit here. it is different there, i find it to be really social actually??? I was there for a year on a WHV and im moving over permanently next month. In my year there i worked in hospitality and made loads of friends... i was out most weekends ( i was 28 at the time also ). I still speak to some of them 2 years later and I am sure il see them again.Saying this when i go back il be moving into a office type job as i work in I.T so might find it a bit tricker, but i also have family there so that helps massively as were quite close and I wont be far from them.I think it depends on the place you work and the type of people you work with but i also think it really depends on the type of person you are.... i am quite a loud person and i am overly confident. I find the Ozzies to have a very similar sense of humor to myself and they are very quick to take the piss out of you for anything which i quite like. I can only imagine some of the city slickers solicitor types in sydney are a bit older , more reserved type's of people with familys...i bet if you worked on a building site or in hospitality ( i understand you were there on secondment ) you would of made loads of friends
  2. Totally agree......what a complete jackass :twitcy:
  3. Hi , I just thought id get a feeler for my chances of finding work ( i am sure people ask this all the time time ) , i am moving to Brisbane/Goldcoast ( in-between but do not mind working in either place ) at the end of august. My girlfriend is already there (she is Australian, i am going on a 309 partner visa) just sorting a few loose ends before i come out there. I am 30 years old, BA with honours in business/business computing and work as an application support analyst for a big ftse 100 firm. I support a massive retail builders merchant (pricing, sales, inventory ect). I use oracle and SQL server and I also provide second line support for other bespoke sales applications. The ftse 100 group I work for own 17 different merchant brands and I am exposed to a wide range of applications. I have gained all my I.T experience from this company over the past 2 years since graduating. I have oracle certificates and I am ITIL certified. Am i going to struggle for work in this kind of area??I have noticed people say its outsourced a lot in OZ.... its silly really as we tried outsourcing some development work abroad and they are normally useless as they just don't understand the business what so ever and i think this is way more important than how well you can write/read code. I would be open to moving away from application support.... perhaps a BA role ( junior ) ??
  4. Thanks for the info! I did think this actually about the middle seats, and iv already looked on REALOEM.com and found the part i need. I have the fixing point for it in the chassis but i just need to cut a hole in my parcel shelf to mount the OEM anchor like it is above. Id rather do it myself as i don't trust your average garage monkey to do it neatly
  5. SOOOO I'm another lucky person today too….. i got quoted 10-14 months and i just got my 309 visa grant notice!! 8.5 months! i can't believe it. Il still be leaving in august but I'm so surprised it came through this early. good luck to everyone still waiting. :cute:
  6. Hi, Do you know if the car seat fixing's on my car are ok for Australian child seat regulations, will i need any altercations?? There is two of these points only my parcel shelf. its a 2007 lci bmw 530 sport.
  7. i am starting to see a re-occurring pattern here as he did the same thing to me jez... don't really think he knows what point he is trying to get across but calling people racists for stating the obvious seems to be his forte. Arthur ... Seems like there is nobody on this thread that agree's with anything are saying which kind of indicates that your views are shared by very little or no one. I suspect you have long greasy hair , a beard and spend most of the day in front of a computer preaching your hippy bull*** .... take it elsewhere because we certainly do not want to hear it
  8. your a moron! Hahahaha when the *** did I say it was only Indian doing this? Your a typical idiot using racism as an argument .. I meant no racism in what I said please point it out to me????you made it racist so shut up. Your comical :biglaugh: stop talking dribble you donkey and accusing me of being a racist ... Your what's wrong with the world.... Can't say anything about a non white person without being accused of racism. Get a grip d**ck head
  9. No i think you missed my point, he used and abused someone to get a visa , and now he will abuse that visa to bring in his family members . If you cannot see that this is wrong then i think you need to have your head checked. :twitcy: Believe you me i am anything but a keyboard warrior and i have strong views on situations like this, and if perhaps this was a person i knew myself that had been through this he would need to worry . take that however you want but i think you'll find i give zero **** on what you think . It wouldn't matter what nationality they were, i would have the same views/opinions.... you brought that into the equation
  10. It makes my blood boil when good people go through all this hassle of visa's and are genuine, and then there is SCUM like this who just abuse the system and get away with it. I wouldn't be surprised if the they deported him as the Australian government are pretty ruthless...be the best outcome. Now all he is going do is try and get every one of his 50 family members visa's now from india and bring them over.... this is happening way too often and they need to stop it .I would love to come face to face with with this oxygen thief:realmad:
  11. congrats! great news. Were you quoted the 8-9 months or 10-14 months processing time??
  12. Thanks for the info! i was also concerned about resale over there as dont they prefer the petrol cars?? I would think with the fuel prices over there the 3.0d would be ideal really and really economical! i also wanted to ask, with GM and ford stopping production in australia what is likely to happen to import tax's/dutys and rules?? is it likely to change soon?? Surely the cost of shipping cars into oz will have to come down
  13. Hi, just some advise please. I have a 2008 lci bmw 530d msport in grey. High spec with most optional extra's in near new condition. Would it be worth my while taking this over? When I was over there I did notice German saloons / tourers fetched good money
  14. i just wanted to ask , does anyone have the CO with initials LG?? i haven't seen anyone on this thread with this CO. its slightly concerning :swoon:
