Australian immigration is easier than uk... UK- my hubby is Australian and I always take the (3) kids with me (UK passports) and he goes thru non eu passports and regularly gets stopped by police questioning his reasons for travel... then they realise we together and they mumble and finish up... Australia we go thru australian passport holders and their families together no problems.. As they are babies, I would contact immigration at airports and ask questions as to which queue you need to go in. also will need landing cards if on australian passport to come into uk . need to travel on same passport, not swapping throughout journey...

@MelanieJS My hubbys family are in Brisbane, so we are looking at moving over Jan 2016. Have you looked at areas yet? Too much choice but I want to be near a beach

@Bronyaur, I see your stats at the bottom, not sure how to do that at the moment Obviously depends on case officer- we applied 24/12/14 and CO appointed 15/1/15 and Med/police checks end June.... long process.....

I am looking for advice please. I have worked in ICU for 10y and primary care for 2 years. I worked in AUstralia a number of years ago ( working holiday visa) and currently applying for partner migration and going to Queensland probably Gold coast region. I heard that you need an ICU qualification to enable the higher rate of pay and to be allowed to work 12 hr shifts? What is primary care nursing like in Australia, I have been a practice nurse for 2 years now doing chronic disease management, treatment room duties smears etc.. THank you Lx

@snowy5100 we submitted on 24th Dec 2014 and also got an email asking for more info from Dec 2011... We have been together 13 years this year, 3 kids....numerous trips together, to Australia and elsewhere... As you say many bills in our own names and we just pay certain things from our own accounts... Its funny, cos ppl who are doing it to get their visa will have ll the proof required to a t and be prepared... for all, whereas genuine ppl get caught short, heres hoping our case officer also sends back all ok... Where ru hoping to go?
