  1. Haha, I second the Peppy Grove suggestion. If you don't have millions burning a hole in your pocket though, best look elsewhere. What are you looking for in a suburb?
  2. I guess it depends where you come from and where you're going. I moved from Perth to the UK (having never visited the UK before) and I've found the standard of housing in England to be much lower than I was used to for a comparable price in Perth. All a matter of perspective I suppose, not that it helps your situation much! I wish you better luck in hour house-hunt...
  3. I'm glad someone in the north actually does Saturdays! Thanks for the info. Glad I don't have to take time off work.
  4. I would recommend practicing the writing portion with sample prompts you can find online. No, it's not fun to lock yourself away for an hour to just practice writing, but going above the minimum word count in the allotted amount of time can require finesse. I considered myself to be quite a strong writer, and I scored lower in this than other sections.
  5. Best of luck PandaPaws Let us know how you guys go!
  6. "When I left in May I didn't realise I wouldn't be going home..." I think you just answered your own question. Also, time spent in a relationship means nothing really when it comes to passion. If it's right, it's right! I moved to the UK from Perth, WA and less than a year after being here, I met an Aussie guy (from Perth) online, and he's moved to the UK to be with me while I go through the PR process. I'm not trying to make this about me (I promise!) but it does just go to show that you should go with your gut. What your gut and heart are saying is obvious. If he is prepared to go, what's stopping you? I suppose my only advice would be to ensure your relationship is well-documented if he is going over on a WHV. If you plan to live together, keep a record of rental payments, etc. This is just in case he doesn't end up with sponsorship during this time, and you decide to continue the relationship. Hope this makes sense!
  7. What an experience you've had! Although I understand you've known your boyfriend for awhile, you said you hadn't been in a relationship for very long. What type of visa is he eligible for?
  8. Hi Nursebucko, I have a few of the same questions as you. Looking forward to responses!
  9. It's complete madness. It's even easier to do the American police check, which requires fingerprints! Give me US and Aussie police checks any day over the rubbish English one. Unfortunately for me, I need all three!
  10. My uni in Perth was useless. I actually had to write the letter and send it to them so all they had to do was print and sign it!
  11. Did you get a letter from your university stating what ages AND for how long you taught them when you were training?
  12. Thank you for your message! If I'm ever down south I'll give you a shout.
  13. I'm a young professional woman who lives with my Aussie partner in Leeds. Is there anyone else Oz-bound nearby who'd want to meet up for a drink?
