Helen and James. I'm the aussie, my bf is the pom lol we applied for the 309/100 visa back in May 2014 and the 100 visa was granted 9 months and 3 days afterwards on 12th February 2015...one day before our 7 year anniversary [emoji2] We fly out to Melbourne 24th August and we're going to be moving to country Victoria as I spent my teenage years in Wangaratta and we both love the country...cities are too busy lol anyway as soon as we're settled in our temporary accommodation the job and house hunting begins [emoji2] [emoji2] [emoji2]

Yes it does depend upon the CO...me and my bf have been together over 7 years now and we still thought we'd get a 309 but nope, straight to 100

We did one stat dec each and then once it was witnessed by a solicitor we uploaded it to each of the different sections of the application it related to...about 7 or 8 in total. If you want I can find the template I did and email it to you? It also only cost us about a fiver to get ours certified...but then we did use a solicitor in Derbyshire which is markedly cheaper than one down in London lol Oh and as for stat decs from other people...two aussie citizens is all we had and my bf got granted subclass 100 straight away [emoji2] xx

It means you've put everything on the application that they could possibly ask for, including the medicals and police certificates xx

My boyfriend has never been to Australia...and we move out there with him on a subclass 100 visa in August. Just go for it, if you don't like it then go back to the uk xx

In our case I'm guessing it would be because we literally applied then did the medical within days of uploading James' application so the time taken to process the visa and get it back to us would've given us very little time to get out to Australia to validate it xx

Nope, this year. We were granted 12th February and James' validation date is 3rd September. We move out there 24th August

All our police checks/medicals were done late may/early june but our validation date is by 3rd September...I'm guessing that could be because the medical took a while to finalise? Or the dept gave us a bit of leeway lol xx

Thanks [emoji2] [emoji2] [emoji2] i know so excitings!!!!! We fly out 24th August to Melbourne with Etihad as it was the cheapest airline lolol they do 30kg each plus hand luggage and then a handbag etc also xx

Thanks [emoji2] no we did it all ourselves...waaay easier than the migration agents make it out to be lol we just put everything possible they might want to prove our relationship and got all documents that needed certifying done by a solicitor that only charged us £15 for the privilege...and even then that was cash in hand lol. We applied 10th May and so it took 9 months 2 days in all. When did you apply? xx

Update: visa was granted on Thursday morning...we booked our flights Thursday night we fly out 24th August xx

It was/is the total opposite for me regarding asthma inhalers...loads of my friends at my primary school in London had inhalers, my boyfriend has one as does his nan and some of his friends also. Yet in Australia? No one I know uses one xx

Hoping we hear friday (which'll be 9 months 3 days) as its mine and my boyfriend's 7th anniversary then so it'd be nice to have more than one thing to celebrate on the same day lol xx
