  1. I had my 189 granted on Thursday ?? keep in there guys it's coming. Wishing you all some good news this week ☘
  2. Hmm, well a lot. There are two lists short term (STSOL) and long term lists (MLTSSL) take a look... http://www.border.gov.au/Trav/Work/Work/Skills-assessment-and-assessing-authorities/skilled-occupations-lists
  3. Have you an occupation on either of the skilled list?
  4. Aw that's good then at least you'll know in a months' time. I was hoping to 'top up' my FDA over there but with the new international fees even for permanent residents I think I'll pass! I would really like to get into teaching/tutoring Cert 3 and Diploma in Children's Services students but will probably wait the four years until we gain citizenship. There are some parts of GC which are considered regional, for example Nerang and Mt Tamborine. So you'd only need to work there and you could live in Surfers, Burleigh, Upper Coomera or wherever you wanted. I am going to have a little look at jobs now that I have the visa, I applied for one the other day but heard nothing back obv because I was so far away with no visa...!
  5. You might be good with the cache level 3 and higher certificate to achieve diploma level. When did you submit? Yeah it's highly unlikely unless you had 20 children 0-6 registered to your childminders. I have 3 qualifications (Montessori, level 3, & foundation degree) but ACECQA only assessed level 3. Where do you hope to go? X
  6. With the recent changes I would get your application in ASAP. Fingers crossed your qual is diploma level, what is your qualification? Yes for TRA you need to manage a nursery with at least 20 children 0-6 years old. Yes TRA is the assessing authority. It cost $1,000 for the skills assessment. We're booking flights for 2nd September going to the Gold Coast. Can't fully believe it yet! ??
  7. Wow Joeh99 go you! I wish I had been more gutsy and handed it in before I got the visa. I'd only have 1 month notice now, not 3 months' however we still need to plan and book flights etc. I'd say your very close behind me. slot of ppl who applied within a day or two of me were granted yesterday so there must be some pattern to the madness!! ?
  8. Oh words can't describe the feeling- honestly were over the moon. I'm still in shock, our case wasn't clear cut. For my work evidence I sent off hundreds of documents to prove experience such as employment statement, payslips, bank statements, salary increase letters, bonuses & awards, emails, ofsted report, p60/p45, professional development certificates, supervision, apprasial forms. Everything that linked me to being in management basically. Have you started the process lparker? ?
  9. Okay friends, I can finally share and clarify. My application was successful we have now been granted a 189 skilled independent visa on 134111 Childcare Centre Manager with diploma level qualification and over 3 years experience. Over the freaking moon!
  10. Thanks I was having a shit day at work, 12.5 hour shift as my deputy was off sick. Then our agent called this morning at 9:30 and told us we received a grant. Couldn't believe it my day turned completely around and I could not focus on anything else! Just handed my notice in 3 months today.. I'm free! I am still in utter shock...when you want something so bad you talk yourself out of getting it. You'll be next @joeh99 as you are so close behind me. Seems to be a bit of movement this week... Eek :))
  11. Guys, great news. We had our visa grant today. Absolutely over the moon! Words can not describe. It feels surreal...
  12. Are you currently on a 457 visa in Australia granted before 19th April?
  13. I know a friend who entered Australia on a partner visa with her girlfriend. Like the above poster says you need to make a strong case. Most defacto partners will need to be in a lasting relationship for over 12 months and prove they are living together or have shared assets/finances. You will certainly need the skype calls information, photos, flight proof, receipts for gifts to one another, accomodation e.g hotel bookings/holidays in both names, statutory declaration's from family and friends to prove you are in a lasting relationship and that they approve. Wedding invitations with both your names on as guests. Getting married won't matter so much as you'll still need 12 months proof of your relationship. Is there any way you could get a WHV for Oz or she could get a youth mobility visa for UK? Then you could live together for a period and then apply. We've applied for a 189 visa and I added my boyfriend we just added tenancy agreements, holiday's, travel details, bank statements, and cards. Good luck!
  14. @joeh99 Maybe we're too optimistic, I also think oh maybe it'll be granted on a Monday. That'd be nice on the worst day I the week... ? Well look here, we seem to have a theme. We all work with young people. I'm a Childcare Centre Manager and you two are teachers so perhaps they do even extra checks for us as we have influential roles and responsibility for the future of Oz ? ? well you never know!!
  15. Yay congrats MrWilson! Great news. So jealous. When you planning to fly?
  16. Haha that's wishful thinking Joe99. Yikes, what occupation have you applied under? For 189 it's 4-6 months now updated 30th April. It used to be 3-5 months initially then up 5-7 months recently and now back down a bit. It's my birthday in 3 weeks it would be the best 30th present ever... Please immi grant my new life! ?? hope everyone has a restful weekend, no checking emails religiously and obsessively. Is everyone using an agent?
  17. It just goes to show there is certainly no rhyme or reason to it. It's all random, people get grants within days others are in it for the long haul. Unfortunately that's us ? people often say "no news is good news." It's extremely nerve wrecking, emotionally draining, and frustrating to be stuck in limbo. I wish they had a better system in place where you could see movement or a pattern emerge. That's being very wishful, I know! Luckily my boss is very understanding & knows the situation so when/if I get the visa I can give my 3 months' notice then. My landlord has also agreed to give us a periodic tenancy after our fixed term in July. ??I hoped to have known by this week at the latest so that we could fly in July but I guess you just have to let go & realise you have no control whatsoever. The only peace of mind I have is that all you lot are waiting too so it's not just us. Fingers crossed for all of you to hear soon. ?
  18. SC333, wow you just have serious patience? ? that's an extremely long wait! We're 12 weeks waiting this week and I'm pulling my hair out, can't relax thinking about it. @wrussell if immi were to refuse an application is there a timescale linked to that? Could it go over processing time & still have refusal? Why hey am I such a pessimist ? ??
  19. Your husband could get sponsored on a 187 as a Childcare Group Leader in Regional Australia. This list will be updated in March 2018 so best to look into this ASAP. Look to ACECQA for having his NVQ assessed. Good luck!
  20. I know right, they've been very chilled this month. Not many have been granted this month compared to other months. When are you hoping to go, and where too?
  21. Nope, still waiting. I see you've been granted yours though, congratulations! and you have similar dates to me... fingers crossed I am lucky this week... eeeek...
  22. Just go your best. It's not easy remembering every day of your life for 30 years. Form 80 almost killed me! ?
  23. Plus relationship proof ? bills, photos, trips together.
  24. Waiting 11 weeks so far for 189... How long you?
  25. No if you apply for a skilled independent visa you can work in McDonald's if you fancied it. ?
