  1. Yay!! Joeh99 I'm delighted for you been waiting to hear this. I know the feeling, absolute shock! I spent the next 3 months lost about what to do with my life ? I arrived last week and every day has been incredible best of luck for the move ?????
  2. Hi there! M you will definitely need a minimum of 3 years management experience to qualify, TRA state that on their website and at least a diploma qual. Have you looked at the job ready program? That might be more suitable? If you are doing all the jobs of a director from ANZSCO 134111 then it will be sufficient but only after 3 years. Hope pe that helps ?
  3. Looks like the 189 has increased to 75% processed in 8 months 90% in 11 months. That's getting crazy now!!
  4. Ok understood. It's just extreme that's all. I've seen many people naming & linking to other sites across different forums and that's why people do it- to help others. This site is better for more in depth info and "chatting" / visa talk. The one that was mentioned was just a tracker ... Good of luck to all of you waiting everytime I'm getting a notification in clicking in to see if any of you have been successful. Hang in there once you get that magical email somehow all the stress and anxiety just vanishes and you'll never remember how difficult it was. It's 5 weeks until we fly and I'm still in disbelief that we have been given the visa. ?
  5. @Yikes2017 I did use an agent and this is something that drove me crazy! I always wondered if she was away/finished work etc would I know immediately! I got the call from her at 9.30am the day it was granted! So there is some delay others who applied themselves had the email in the middle of the night! Anyways if you don't hear by 10am each day you can assume it's not your day ?
  6. That's so silly! I don't understand why you can't name something that might help others both this site and others are useful. This site doesn't provide ALL the info you need to keep sane! ?
  7. Yes one on another forum nurse who lodged in mid April ? at least they're starting ....

  9. Hey @joeh99 I honestly can't believe you lot are still waiting it's crazy, but I do think you'll hear in the next couple of days. Have you checked people who applied the same day/day after you? Pretty much everyone who applied the same day or either side of me were granted a day or two apart. I know the feeling, honestly there is nothing worse. Like I've said before it would be so helpful to know if the visa is going through stages of processing rather than fearing the worst that it might be rejected! That was my biggest fear was for them to say no! Planning is going well, my team know I am leaving now and my replacement will step up in about 5 weeks- they weren't too happy about the replacement but hey ho! We've organised accommodation on the Gold Coast for the first 3 weeks and we're hopeful we can secure a long term rental in that time frame We also ordered a movecube.. Have you booked flights yet?
  10. Ok, wow Quoll cheers for that I had no idea. I shall stick with Early Years then as there is plenty of work in that and I don't need to retrain
  11. Would also like to know about Primary School jobs in Queensland. I'm considering retraining in November to become a Primary Teacher. Do most teachers in your school have qualifications 5-12 or are some 0-8? Do you also know if you choose which stage you want to teach e.g. prep or year 1 or are you assigned each year a different class?
  12. Hi All, I've recently been approved a 189 skilled independent visa for Australia and I move in 7 weeks I am a Childcare Centre Manager and I am considering going back to study a Bachelor of Education (Early Childhood & Primary) birth to eight in Brisbane in November. I have previous studies from Ireland and the UK in Early Childhood which means I can do a 4 year degree in 2 years or maybe even 18 months which would open more options for me in the future e.g. better hours/pay and if I have my own family etc. So honestly speaking, I am only considering to go back to studying now so I can be classed as a domestic student and not international if I wait until after 2018 then this would be the case and the fees would be extortionate. So I guess my question is are Primary Teachers sought after in Queensland and would someone who only trained in Primary Education (5-12 years) be more employable than me who would have (0-8 years) and over 12 years experience in Early Education and Management. Would love to hear from other Primary/Early Childhood Teachers...
  13. I'm so surprised that none of you have heard anything yet! I thought i'd be in the same boat waiting until after July 1st but thankfully mine just came through at the end of may. Looks like they are a bit delayed this year, but probably because of so many changes. Plus we must think they have to get through last years applications asap that may be running out e.g. medicals/police checks. Honestly once you have the visa you won't know what to do with yourself. I'm constantly checking back here to see if anyone I've been chatting to have received theirs yet. It's still surreal, I can't believe we fly in 7 weeks. @Yikes2017 is your daughter starting reception? If so would you not wait until February where she can start school in Oz- if you plan to be there by then that is? It would be awful confusing for your little one to start here and then move mid year and start again. I have a little boy in my preschool who turns 5 in August and will stay with us until November when he will move to Canada for reception there. Fingers crossed for all of you. I think they will start happening tonight! Come on the grant fairy!
  14. Yes I heard the same this morning. It applies to 189, 190, 489 now.
  15. None, unless he lives in regional Australia and you are applying for 190 state sponsored visa, then you get 10 points from your brother.
  16. Joe you'll get yours this week, it hasn't been 3 months since you submitted. Mine was 3 calendar months and 4 days from submission. ?
  17. Hi Sunnykirana, Yes if you have studied the Diploma of Children's Services in Australia and are offered a position in Management (Director or Assistant Director) you can transition onto the 'Job Ready Program' which is for recent graduates I think you need to be guaranteed a job for 18-24 months in that position so needs to be full time permanent. Contact Trades Recognition Australia, they are the assessing authority for CCC Manager for skilled migration and the ones who issue the Job Ready Program. I would say without prior experience it would be fairly difficult to walk into a management position straight from the diploma, but perhaps in regional Australia they may be crying out for these positions. Good luck!
  18. We paid £2,000 for agent fees as part of the whole process for skills assessment & visa application - when exchange rate was bad too. To me it was pennies, it was £1,000 each less than 6 weeks rent for something so important. So many people make mistakes that cost them their whole visa application charge and have to start over, and then pay for an agent too. Each individual has there own reasons. If you're very clued up on your skill and requirements, have lots of time on your hands and your case is easy then go for it! Good luck ☘☘
  19. So immi only grant 190,000 skilled visas per year that's their max. They've already invited over that number so only the first 190,000 will be granted then once the quota has been filled they wait for the new financial year to begin- 1st of July. Every year in May/June the visa grant comes to a halt, usually mid June they stop issuing visas. Joeh99 based on mine and others I think you should hear by the 20th June if quotas aren't filled before then. I've been in the same situation, everyday thinking 'is it today' checking emails, tracker, forums, etc driving myself insane. It's such a painful experience to go through and I really wish it was clearer. Although in the end once you get the visa, you have no idea what to do with yourself and the waiting is so worth it to have that email : "congratulations you've been granted a 189 skilled independent visa- stay : indefinitely." They didn't give us much time though entry date was before 03/10 and grant was 25/5
  20. Stay in there guys. I have to admit it was the most painful wait ever. 13 weeks & 2 days from lodging but finally when it came through I almost died. I'm still in shock and don't know what to do with myself now, we have to wait 3 months to go due to work but when it comes honestly there's no better feeling. Be aware everything has slowed down as skilled migration quotas are near max. Wishing all of you a grant email next week ???
  21. She's fine don't worry! I had the same concern. My boyfriend and I had 2 years in Oz, we met on the second year. He had worked for employer 1 for 4 months in the first year and 4 months on the second and then employer 2 for 6 months on the first and again 4 months on the second year. So in total worked 8 months with employer 1 and employer 2 10 months in total. The employers were also friends! We were granted permanent residency last week- no issues. ????? as above, the second year starts the 6 month period over again. So from May she was free to work with that employer again.
  22. Hi Lucas, that's great news. I have no doubt the BA will equate to at least diploma or advanced diploma level. Good luck with the interview process... @sunnykirana- Sorry for the delay I didn't get a notification of a new post. I didn't do the job ready program as you need to be in Oz, have studied the diploma there and been offered a managers position. The criteria for TRA to be successful for skilled migration under CCC Manager is; Management experience; Minimum 3 years with at least 20 children ranging from 0-6years with the all the duties and responsibilities from ANZSCO 134111 and a diploma level early childhood education qual. Hope pe this helps. ?
