  1. Try your local court too...I phoned them and they stamped/signed all mine for free
  2. ICE is all over Mackay, no area/suburb is free from it...like a lot of Australia unfortunately but if you don't get involved in it..it shouldn't really affect you too much...that's my line of work but I was shocked at how many regular ppl I would get chatting to who took it or dealt it..or both..Mackay is lovely though n I loved working at the hospital too so good luck x
  3. I used to live in Mackay, I lived in mount pleasant, nice area n very cheap rentals in Mackay compared to where I came from...blacks beach is nice n lot of ppl choose there, I almost did too but wanted to be nearer the hospital for work n shops. I loved it there although I did struggle in the summer...I never saw any snakes or spiders, saw my first snake in Armidale NSW last week!
  4. Omg too much cuteness here..gorgeous pics everyone
  5. Yeah true..I only pick unions who give me that insurance so yeah u may want to be part of a union that doesnt
  6. Just means same as UK. ..you are saying that when you practice in au you will join a union
  7. Depends if you are claiming points for work experience if you need refs/statement of service or not..I didn't. ..I didn't include transcript just degree cert as was claiming points for that
  8. You don't have to wait for visa to register with ahpra. ..u could go over on holiday and complete registration...i also know of someone who got fully registered by sending ID documents to office instead of turning up in person however I don't know how common that is...I done it in person and then did modified assessment
  9. My uni transcript was sent to me and I forwarded it on...It doesn't need to go direct..good luck
  10. I just done a basic cv. .list of jobs I've worked from most recent with dates and duties. .mine was very simple n short n i had no issues with it
  11. Length of times vary..I would do it as soon as u can if your going sometime in the next year n then u have no worries about deadlines.
  12. 1) I didn't give them my access course cert, they don't need it 2) if you have done ielts that is enough to prove english language 3) they asked for five years so give them five years, doesn't sound like beyond 5 years will b relevant to them anyway
  13. Your local court can do it for free or a small fee..Some solicitors can also do it if they are notaries..you can be registered with ahpra without visa
  14. Two thefts...I just wrote what had happened with dates etc..'on 23rd june i.. bla bla..resulting in....' said a bit abt nil cautions convictions etc since that date..then said 'i declare this is true and correct as of' and put date then signed it. I don't know if that's right but that's what I did n there was no issues, got direct grant
  15. I didn't realise a stat dec had to be witnessed..i just sent one re. criminal record with only my signature...They must have accepted it as just a statement then?!
  16. No..but declare it with your application..If you have read advice given on this thread..same applies to you
  17. Yes we were in similar position. .We just added a letter outlining as much info as possible abt two minor offences..as long as u r open n honest it should b ok. .We got visa with no further questions asked
  18. i am selfish and i moved with no problems, i would say yes you need to be a bit selfish..but most of us have to be a bit selfish at some point in order to be happy
  19. Thats not true, you can send your application anywhere..and activate it anywhere too..even at a different office from where you sent application..
  20. you don't register to each state any more, by being registered with Ahpra you can work anywhere in Australia..you can send your documnets to any office, some people choose which office to send it to by figuring out where would have less applications to speed process up! Dunno how well that works. I sent to Sydney and now work in QLD.
  21. im 33 and still not sure about children, i enjoy working and my current lifestyle, been married 6 years..its a big decision that i'm still not ready to make..women die and are ripped apart by childbirth, it doesn't sound pleasant or appealing! I have always wanted to adopt/foster though. Im glad i didnt have children in my 20s, the things i would have missed out on and i would have had no money. We are all living much longer now and from what i have read our fertility is extending also!
  22. the expense puts me off, i can imagine going without a lot which i wouldn't want to do..depends how much you want kids i guess
