  10. All you could do is retrain In a skill that is needed but that will take time and immigration policies can change
  11. Mine took about 7 weeks I think but that was a while ago. Don't worry about start dates..it's out of your hands and employer will be aware of this and will know u can only start when visa is finalised...I was given start date of June just so we all had a rough time to aim for I think but due to paperwork etc I didn't start till mid July, was no big deal n nothing we could do about it

If she is from an English speaking country she doesn't need to do ielts...you can do EOI when you have the skills assessment back and the ielts score...you include your partner on the visa application so you apply for both of you at same time...if you are not claiming points for partner skills she doesn't need skills assessment...cost depends on which visa you are applying for...all details on the immi website
  15. Fill in form..have local address..have picture taken and bring uk lisence...I can't remember if I had to show other ID or not but I always take my passport/Medicare card with me anyway to things like that..u usually do need the 100 points of ID thing
  16. When I changed employers I didn't need to do anything, they transferred it all over, I think I maybe had to sign an agreement to them doing that but that was all..it all went on without me..I just got told when it was complete
  17. You don't need to wait to be requested but as you have already lodged you will now need to wait for it to be https://www.border.gov.au/Trav/Visa/Heal/meeting-the-health-requirement/health-examinations/my-health-declarations
  18. You can book medicals whenever you like through myhealthdeclerations..which will give you a hap id and that's all you need...you need police checks too...I front loaded everything and got a direct grant very quickly...so if you are looking to go as soon as you can then getting everything you need put on may speed up process as case officer won't need to request anything
  19. Yes that's what I did..no you can't register with Medicare till you are in Aus
  20. You don't need skills assessment for 457...my employer sponsored me sent me a link when ready for me to apply and fill in my part of visa so I would ask your employer what and when your next steps are

  22. I filled in ten year wok history roughly yes but didn't supply any references or payslips as wasn't claiming experience points n most of experience wasn't nursing related anyway n like I said why do extra work if I don't have to...I filled in form 80 as I front loaded everything in hope of a quicker grant...i got direct grant in four weeks. Did you do ielts for points too? I had 65 points too but needed ielts for that
  23. This was on qld government webpage: If you are applying for a Queensland provisional or open car or motorcycle licence, you won't have to pass a written road rules test or a practical driving test if you hold, or have held within the last 5 years, a driver licence (other than a learner licence), that corresponds to a class C, RE or R licence granted from these countries.
  24. We do tests very differently in uk and once you pass in uk you are considered able to drive with no further tests needed in Aus...I moved in 2013..the rules haven't changed..she could display green P plates I guess if your determined that it has to be different but she wouldn't need to take a test or anything...she def wouldn't go back to Ls as she will have already passed practical test
  25. I moved to qld having only had uk lisence for one week...was easy process to transfer straight into full qld lisence..just a form to fill in pay a fee...no tests...I'm glad I passed before I came as the process here for passing is lengthy and weird lol when I came back to Victoria with uk Licence it was same thing...they weren't interested how long I had held it
