  1. Dude that's cool, gimme a PM and we can go from there
  2. Hello Damon, myself my wife and two boys have now been in freshwater cairns Queensland for the last 6 days, already it's need amazing, more than any of us could have imagined, I have already hooked up a job and I start next week, my starting wage is $1400 a week and $1100 a week take home, so $4400 a month take home, roughly £2200 a month take home, that's starting wage, my new boss said after 6-12 months, if he thinks I'm competent, I will rise to his normal mechanic wage of $1800 before tax, $1500 after tax a week, so wage is good. it took me from August 2014 until September 2015 to gain our visas, subclass 189 perminant skilled trade. just stick it out mate and get it done, commit yourself, and I can assure you won't be looking back!!!!....this is effin paradise mate
  3. Spot on buddy. Thank you for the time to reply so quickly, I will keep that in mind, I know where I will be staying, because we are going to live with my sister, do you think it would be wise to apply now, and give my sisters address, so it arrives, around the time we arrive???,,...
  4. Hello PIO people, myself, my wife and our two boys are migrating to Australia next Wednesday from the uk... i went through the whole 189 visa over the last 14 months.... I was just wondering, for tax purposes, do I need to apply for a tax number myself??? or is there anything stated in the visa document from Australian government where it's been set up for me and individually my wife and kids, on there visa documentation???... any advice will be great.... kind regards...
  5. Hello poms in Oz, i wonder if anyone can help.... myself. The wife and the two kids are migrating to cairns Australia on the 2nd of December (7weeks approx) my sister has a house in cairns and we are going to live with her and the brother inlaw for a year while we establish ourself to Australia. we have sold pretty much everything we own, and now living with my inlaw's until decemeber. im a mechanic by trade and this is also how we obtained the 189 skilled visa. im planning on following my career into Australia and carrying on as a mechanic. the only thing apart from our suit cases and hand luggage is a 'snap on tool box' my question is....'is anyone on the forum, shipping/hiring a container around that date, or before', that I could pay for a section in their container??? if anyone could advice?? Or if anyone is shipping could reply.... obviously 'x' amount of money for hiring a space is waiting cash....
  6. Like stated previously, as long as when you apply for invitation you don't lie about points etc, and then you get the invite, and then Medicals and PC are all fine etc, it should be ok....I took me 3 invitational rounds with 60 points to get the invite (6weeks), but I got it, and lodged visa July and pc and Medicals August and then granted visas Friday just gone!!!...good luck
  7. july 13th was the date I lodged visa, case officer asigned by 24th July, Medicals and police checks lodged 15th August, Visas lodged 25th September!!!.....
  8. Over the Effin moon, received a phone call this morning from my agent, visa 189 have been granted for me and my family, 13 months of stress, wait, frustration, and now the phone call this morning has completely been worth it....thank you everyone who helped answer my questions and gave advice, I hope everyone who is still waiting receives theirs asap....
  9. Moving to cairns in December, wondered if anyone on here lives In the area.... im a motor mechanic by trade and a very competent, experience one at that... over 10 years in the trade and very useful on cars trucks vans etc. what kind of hourly rate/salary in Au$, am I likely to be offered??? average hourly rate/salary?? is there much mechanical work avaliable in the cairns area??? thank you in advance for any input.... kind regards
  10. I just seems our life's have been on hold for the last 14 odd months haha!!!...not buying anything for the house, saving money, not treating ourselves to this that and the other as we wont be taking alot with us etc. i just hope this week is the week!!!....but like previously said, I'm the same, constantly checking emails on phone....
  11. We are also still waiting, I lodge our family application for 189 beginning of July, and then case officer was assigned 13th July.... I also am such a laid back person, but as this process from the start has nearly taken 14months, I seem to also be getting more and more impatient lol. i liased with my agent around a 5 weeks ago and then again 2 weeks ago, asking for an update, as I also want to book flights for me and the family for 2nd week in December, she said it won't be long and to stay patient....AHHHHHHHHHHHH!!
  12. Yes that's what I've ordered toniggt off the ACRO website...my agent has said, basically this is what my agent emailed me today:- Hi again Nadim, Sorry, I have just realised that your police check has a no live trace. This means that the case officer is more than likely to ask you to obtain a further check, so that they know what "no live trace" refers to. I cannot guarantee that they will request a further check, but if they do, you may want to be one step ahead by applying for it now? The thing to do is to request this in the form of a Subject Access Disclosure from the UK Criminal Records Office (ACRO). Since ACRO take quite a while to issue these (I think it can take more than 40 days) so I recommend that you organise this now, just in case it is required, but it is up to you, you can also decide to wait and see if this is requested: http://www.acro.police.uk/subject_access.aspx So by the way that the agent has messaged me this, it doesn't seem so bad, I just wanted a 2nd,3rd,4th opinion off anyone who has been In this situation.... thanks again for replying
  13. That's good to here that someone had the same situation and positively got visa granted, I know it's not a major offence, and it was a fair few years ago, and yes I have never been cautioned since or been known to the police from that. I just know that that its strict and I suppose if you have anything to pull you up, it could always go against you in any circumstance in general life...thanks for the replys
  14. Hello, I've posted before but havnt posted in a while, the visa I'm going through is a 189 visa, and am almost completed, have done all the ielts, skills assessment etc, already have a case officer assigned, and applied for police checks 2 weeks ago, got them through this week, just want a experienced opinion off people on here please...my wife's came through as 'no trace' and mine came through as 'no live trace', I'm 27 and when I was 18/19 years old (can't exactly remember date or age) I got into a drunken pub fight and got arrested, spent 1 night in police station and got let out in the morning withoit any charge or fine etc, I have just toniggt sent away for the more informed police check £10, which I'm waiting on to determain Why It is 'no live trace', that is the only time I have been arrested or in trouble with police, is this going to be ok????....has anyone ever been in this position and been rejected, with somethjng so little??? Any replays will be highly appreciated, thank you
