Musical Instruments on Malaysia Airlines
cjbchris replied to cjbchris's topic in Shipping and Removals
did do... but can't make head nor tail of it.. Chris -
Has anyone flown on Malaysian airlines with a musical instrument?? I'll be flying over with my Banjo, which is in a hard case 99cm long and weighing 9kg in total... What's my chances of getting it on the aircraft in the cabin, rather than as hold luggage??? Thanks Chris

Great preseason game and my lads got to meet most of the squad for photos and autographs... Even dyche did a family photo with us .

Anyone Moving from Ireland to Oz with an Irish Mortgage
cjbchris replied to a topic in Money & Finance
Out of interest, which lender? We're just considering what to do. Chris -
good stuff.... can't keep away from the politics though!!... sounds like good experience for Oz, from what I've heard about youth work there... it's more about the key working and specialist skills, than the generic stuff.. Chris

Mine was a 2:2 in Community & Youth Studies and was approved by vetassess... just ensure you have the transcript when you send off for assessment. Chris

We did it alone.. If you can fill out forms then it's fairly straightforward.. First step is to have your wifes skills assessed and then take it from there... check out here about Social Worker skills assessment - http://www.aasw.asn.au/whatwedo/international-qualifications

That's the box I checked and I'm in Ireland... they didn't refuse my Visa because of it, or question it.... although maybe I ticked the wrong one and should have checked the "migrant" box ??? Chris

If it's the 411716 Youth Worker you're looking at, you need as closely as possible to show your duties/responsibilities meeting/matching the following: Tasks assessing clients' needs and planning, developing and implementing educational, training and support programs interviewing clients and assessing the nature and extent of difficulties monitoring and reporting on the progress of clients referring clients to agencies that can provide additional help assessing community need and resources for health, welfare, housing, employment, training and other facilities and services liaising with community groups, welfare agencies, government bodies and private businesses about community issues and promoting awareness of community resources and services supporting families and providing education and care for children and disabled persons in adult service units, group housing and government institutions supervising offenders on probation and parole assisting young people to solve social, emotional and financial problems preparing submissions for funding and resources, and reports to government bodies and other agencies When I did my assessment with Vetassess, I just gave one liners that closely resembled the duties given - in line with my function... You would however need your employer to confirm or include in their letter to Vetassess that you did indeed do what you said you did in your application. Chris

I was told by the people who did our medicals that a new system was introduced back in December, which was a joint initiative btwn the Canadian and Australian Authorities... and the people who did our x-rays were very cautious as they said the system was new and they were not too familiar with it?? cjbchris replied to phillys1980's topic in Working and Skilled Visas
Hey George Our medicals status remained at requested until we got the approval email... so don't worry too much about that. Chris -

I filled out Form 80 twice, (one for me and one for my wife) using Foxit reader (see earlier post) and saved them as pdf, and uploaded both to E-visa site... I then printed off and signed the declaration page (x2 me and wife), which were then scanned and uploaded separately. ... they accepted that with no bother.. Chris

Skills Assessment - what was the point of it all....
cjbchris replied to General Dogs's topic in Visa Chat
Sounds like they are being harsh on you. It's all about jumping through hoops and they decide which ones. Have you queried with them why they haven't noted the vetassess letter.... They may have overlooked it? chris -

cjbchris replied to General Dogs's topic in Visa Chat
Did you get the basic assessment from Vetassess or the Points Test Advice letter as well?? Chris -
Hi nickyjkas... I submitted on 6th Feb and heard nothing till I got the approval letter at midnight.... I just kept checking the e-visa portal, and uploaded docs as they were asked for. Chris
