  1. Hi Alan it states: “12 month(s) from the date of each arrival” and has the following conditions: 8503 - NO FURTHER STAY 8558 - MAXIMUM 12 MONTHS STAY IN 18 MONTHS 8501 - MAINTAIN HEALTH INSURANCE 8101 - NO WORK 8201 - MAXIMUM 3 MONTHS STUDY Any advice? Cheers Craig
  2. Hi Folks My parents are over at the moment on what I believe is a 3 years subclass 600 visa that allows them to spend 12 months in 18 months with multiple entries. Can anyone tell me if the visa conditions splits the 3 year visa into two consecutive 18 month periods with multiple entries? Or is it a case they can only be in country for 12 months of any 18 month period during that 3 year period (i.e. the 18 month windows are not consecutive)? The reason being they: Arrived in August 2016 Left OZ in late April 2017 (approx 9 months in Oz minus a 7 day Bali trip) Arrived back in Oz in late November 2017 (approx 6 months out of OZ) They are not sure if they have to leave in November 2018 or February 2019? They are hoping they have 3 months of the first 18 months to use first, then they go into the second 18 month window (where they could stay another 12 months). Or is it a case they have now started a new 12/18 month window, regardless of the fact they only spent 9/15 months in Oz since they activated the 3 year visa. In a way wasting 3 months of time they could of been in OZ. They have been to the local visa centre but no help and no response to their email they sent 60 days ago. Any help is appreciated Cheers C&K
  3. Hi We have received some conflicting information around the temp CPV (173) from a couple of migration agents. So looking for confirmation from the real experts- PIO community! Essentially we are trying to confirm Current processing times and whether my parents could visit on a holiday visa while their application is being processed? We are hoping the info they gave us on cost, applying for permanent visa and bridging visas are correct as they both said the same. Cheers Craig
  4. Hi Everyone Update from us is: Started end of March Advice received 2 weeks later Nomination 2 weeks after that CO appointed start of July Received approval and visa July 15th So just over 3 months for the whole process. Good luck to everyone still waiting or just applying. Cheers Kathleen and Craig
  5. Just had a letter from CO asking for a few extra things. Medicals for Kathleen (we had hoped we could use the one from the 457 - As a nurse this was the same as the 187 requirements) More info on de facto relationship (supplied things like UK mortgage statements, utility bills, Oz rental agreements, utility bills) - not sure what else to send Change of name (Kathleen's family adopted their step-dad's surname when she was young, we have supplied the UK deeds relating to that - unsure what else we can send?) We have 28 days it says to supply these. Does that mean we should expect a decision not long after that? If so it's been very quick as we only started the process at the end of March.
  6. Thanks for the feedback, we guessed 6-8 months so that seems to fit with other's experiences.
  7. Hi Everyone Just thought we would join the thread as we wait for our 187 Visa (DE). We moved to Adelaide in September 2012 on a 457 visa but have been encouraged and assisted by my employer to get PR. We started the ball rolling at the end of March and the first 2 stages were completed relatively quickly. The Regional Certifying Body Advice was received within 3 weeks and the nomination was done within 2 weeks. We have since completed the third stage, the application and as we had a lot of the info required from the 457 visas (apart from medicals) that was submitted at the end of April. I guess we are just waiting for a case worker and then hopefully approval............ how long is a piece of string? Any thoughts on time scales or eager to hear about other's experiences. Thanks Craig
  8. Hi Everyone We originally came out on a 457 visa in Sept 2012 but my employer has convinced me that we should apply for PR using the RSMS. They have started the ball rolling this week but wondered if anyone could give me a guess how long it may take? My employer thinks they can use a lot of the paperwork I supplied for my 457 visa last year. Thanks Craig
  9. Hi Everyone Been reading this thread for a while now and we started at page 1 onwards. There has been some great bits of info and some good advice but I am unsure how to apply this new found knowledge to our own circumstances. Which bits would apply/be eligible for etc. Our situation is that we are here on a 457 Visa and are looking to go PR soon. My sister has been here 3 years now and she has just become PR. My parents are very interested in joining us here soon too even if it is just for part of the year (ideally they would want to stay forever). They only have my sister and me so they are really wanting to be here too. My Dad is 59 in January next year and will be retired from the armed forces after 35+years, my mother will be 56 in April next year. They have looked at the parent and contributory visa and both have challenges. Obviously the wait for the parent visa and we are still not clear on age etc, then there is the cost of the contributory visa. They are not looking to work but simply retire. The pensions they have will keep them and they are looking to live between me or my sister. They may also be in a position to buy a property with the sale of their house in the UK. We are starting to think there is nothing they can do except apply for the parent visa and wait, take the decision to pay out for the contributory parent visa or just forget it and just keep coming out on a 3-6 month holiday visa. Any suggestions, places/people we should talk to etc would be greatly appreciated. Thanks Craig
  10. Hi Great thread and has been very helpful. Only question is.......... I requested a statement of service from my HR department (got fed up waiting for my manager to do it) and it came through today. Its basically a 4 line paragraph on NHS letter headed paper saying I am employed as a staff nurse and from what date. I have my original job description. If I were to get my manager to sign both of these documents would that be enough? I used the cpd template on another thread and plan to get my manager to sign that. Everything else I think I have ready. Just need to find a notary. Cheers

  12. Hi Sorry this is going to sound so lazy but after scrolling up and down this thread and others we are confused slightly over what we need to submit as part of the AHPRA registration. It seems from what we have read here it depends on situation etc. Ours is: Looking to go on a 457 VISA to SA Been advised by SA Health that we are to complete the AHPRA registration first then apply for the job, then VISA Been collecting School/College/University certificates Speaking to the above about transcripts (though the school have said we need to speak to the awarding bodies) Speaking to current HR team about evidence of my current role/training Speaking to NMC over registration document Updating CV in-line with AHPRA website Could anyone advise if the above (along with copies of passport) is enough supporting info. Also what needs to be certified and what doesn't etc. I have also noted that the University transcript (for example) can be sent straight to AHPRA yet my University has just given me the transcript to send myself. We hope to get this right first time to ensure there are little/no delays. Any advice would be appreciated. Also we have seen some posts saying you need transcripts of your qualifications and others saying you just need the certificates? Also which documents need to be signed/certified? Thanks Kathleen and Craig
