Guys I highly recommend getting your skills assessed, Im a telcoms tech and was assessed by Milcom, (they also run CCTV security training) you will need license and probably Open cabling license here in OZ ,, Everything is about certificates over here... you even need a certificate to make coffee ! https://milcom.edu.au/technical-security-courses/ That would be a good place to start, its not cheap but I know it helped me as I was like you with no formal qualifications. I actually came here on a 2 year working holiday first and completed some training with milcom first then went back to the UK. I applied to loads of jobs until I was offered sponsorship. I love Australia , its worth it !

just walked back from the beach, its now 8.30 am................. water was clear blue and warm, about 4 other people on the massive beach.... ceiling fan is going im sitting here in shorts............... just about to have a mango and some kiwi fruit for breakfast...... LIFE IS GOOD IN AUSTRALIA soon to be moving into a two bedroom house on the beach, and after bills should be able to save about $1000 a week Oz has been frikken awesome to us..... we are not looking at returning to the UK anytime soon...

So........... Been here for about 3 weeks so far !! loving it, however its only day 3 of work !! the holiday is over We both love it up here, it has everything we need. right now living 100 meters from an amazing beach, Blacks Beach...... so far so good ! Met some really nice people... was working inland on my birthday in a small mining town surrounded by miners, dust and a Mc Donalds in the middle of nowhere !!! that was interesting ! Pretty warm day 2 ! Rent is expensive up here ! food is amazing, great sushi everywhere however little more expensive than Brisbane.... all in all we are very happy ! Feeling healthier already... Cheers

Had a great day, sorted banks, drivers license, phone and bought a tomtom :biggrin: Hardly slept on the flight over, still feel a bit like a zombie, surviving on coffee and sugar right now looking forward to a good nights sleep.. Really feels great to be back though, 25C perfect day in Brisbane... just got back from the botanical gardens... ahh life is good right now

sadly I can see things reverting very quickly once the west pulls out..... they have had much success so I would not say its in vein....however temporary their gains are. you dont join the military and not expect there is a chance you could die !
