Skills Assessment: What Body Should Do My Skills Assessment?

Work experience is important for skills assessments. I would go with SSSi. I am not a migration agent so its best you approach one for professional advice.

457 easy? done without migration agent?

Hey I processed my 457 without an agent and I have just processed my PR without an agent. I thought it was pretty easy. But if you are not confident to put together a valid application by yourself, my advice is to employ a MA.

Validating AHPRA at office on 457 Visa

Hi I do not think you will be rejected, validating at AHPRA is validating your identity which is why you need your passport. AHPRA will do an Australian police checks. I went to AHPRA a day after arriving here and they also wanted my Australian proof of address but I just showed them the arrival stamp in my passport and told them I was still staying in a hotel. They where fine with it because they had a photo ID with the passport. You will be fine so don't stress.

    Fortnightly pay

fortnightly pay= $1848 x 26 pay periods a year = $48048. So to convert this to monthly pay it will be $48048/12 = $4004 per months. So you can see your fortnightly pay is still equivalent to your monthly pay. The mistake you are making is you are assuming since you are being paid fortnightly and since there are 12 months in a year there are 2 fortnights in every month therefore 24 fortnightly pay periods in a year. Its actually 26 fortnightly payperiods because in the months of October and January you get paid three fortnightly pays making the total 26 pay periods. Hope this helps.

    Skillselect ENS 186 Timeline

Yes I used the Melbourne office. Nomination app on 26/06/13 and was approved on 05/09/13. Applied for the visa on 06/09/13 frontloaded police checks, did medicals a week later, front loaded Form 80 and I received the visa grant on 20/11/13. there was no communication from CO. so total from Nomination app to visa grant took about 5 months. If you haven't done things like Form 80 or medicals, I suggest you just get them done because you will need to do them anyway. Good luck.

    Skillselect ENS 186 Timeline

Form 80 is under the dropdown for Character, you know where you uploaded your police checks, on that dropdown menu you will also get Form 80. Good luck.

    Skillselect ENS 186 Timeline

My timeline so far, tired of waiting, seems there is little activity at the Melbourne office. Parramatta is getting all the approvals. DIAC Office : Melbourne Visa Stream : 457 to 186 Direct entry no MA Nomination lodged: 26/06/13 Nomination approved: 05/09/13 186 Visa lodged: 06/09/13.- Frontloaded UK and OZ PCC.-No skills assessment-waiting on LOD. Medicals- 13/09/13 Medicals Cleared- 19/09/13 Positive Skills assessment received- 10/10/13-uploaded on 186 app on 13/10/13 Frontload Form 80- 23/10/13 NO CO ALLOCATED- No communication nothing. Grant- ??????????????????????????????????????????? the waiting is painful.. .........and today at 08:37hrs I received the GRANT EMAIL!!!!!!!! No communication with CO. I must say when I saw the email I thought it was yet another auto-reply to my emails DIAC asking if a CO has been allocated. I can safely say lodging my EN 186 VISA application before receiving a positive skills assessment saved me 5 weeks in waiting time.

Where should I live in Australia? Thinking of QLD

Why not do something radical and train to be a nurse. Then you get your PR visa, work as a nurse and still do your photography. Just a thought.

    My story.

no worries matey, happy to answer questions, Im in Melbourne, work is pretty good out here. And we get paid fortnightly, makes a difference, the weather is generally much better, dont have to travel aborad for a holiday coz you can just go to another state coz there is just so much to do, state schools are good as well, but one thing you need to know is cars are really expensive. i had a crappy car back home so I didnt bring it over. My suggestion to all my friend who have come over after me is to bring over one car. Petrol is cheaper than the UK, houses much much much more spacious. Last summer which was my first, I really enjoyed it, the sunny weather does it for me, but you defo need a good pair of sunglasses...and a comfy pair of runners (trainers) and you will enjoy walking around in thongs (flip flops) most of the time. Its these simple things that make a big difference. Its a big move, be prepared to miss friends and family the first 6 months but you will meet plenty other fun people.

    189 Visa - Sept 2013 Applicants

You are correct, your medicals have actually cleared. I know because mine changed from "referred" to "completed" then when they cleared the link changed to "No health examinations are required for this person for this visa subclass based on the information provided to the Department of Immigration and Citizenship" Although my application is under ENS 186, medicals are the same.
