Just before I left Australia I had a brain scan, suspected cyst, GP sent me to emergency at the Northern in Melbourne, they decided I was in no immediate danger but should see a neurologist, they'd make the appointment, about 8 weeks later I got a letter from them, it said the waiting list was more than 12 months, did I want to stay on the list, if you think things are better in the hospital system at least in Victoria, then you are kidding yourself.

  4. No, not expensive at all, if I remember correctly it was $70 for a couple per year, last time I subscribed in 2014, but without it you have to pay ambulance cost if you use one, could be thousands of $ http://ambulance.vic.gov.au/membership/
  5. Make sure you have ambulance cover, either directly or via medical insurance, not having it could be very costly!!!!
