mmm does make you think about missing all those traffic jams on the M25......can't wait for branson to get the 3hr flight to auz.....hurry up branson
  4. I thought in PIO your not allowed to name and shame...that's why we all asking for pm's....and could you ad me to the list of who it is so we too can avoid them..... hope it all gets soughted
  5. I have found www.mychild.gov.au very helpful. On the 'find childcare' tab it tells you all facilites in your chosen area with contact details, charges and ratings. We are going over on a 457 soon... I will definatley be using this site to help me find somewhere for our 4 year old.
  6. It says this for advice submitting a gsm visa but does not give this info under the 457 advice... do you think, or do you know if the rule applies to all visas?? Anyone??
  7. That sounds promising - thank you. I've already colour scanned the majority and saved them in PDF so hopefully I'm good to go!!
  8. Hello All Am waiting for my nomination to be approved and get the trn number. In the meantime I am collating all the supporting documents needed for the e457. I've read differing advice however. DIAC website states that all supporting documents need to be certified by e.g. a solicior. I'm sure I've read on here though that if you upload colour copies, you do not need to get them certified. Which is it? Also, I am the primary applicant. So what documents will my husband need to submit on our application? Just the general required docs of identity; status; health provision? or do we both have to submit forms 80 and 1221? ps. I'd be completley grey by now if PIO didn't exist. Go PIO!
  9. Would DIAC hold the informaion regarding the date of cancellation? If I were in your situation I would keep Diac informed, I've read on here that if you communicate with them and keep them informed of any changes that they will be supportive and helpful. After all this is not your fault in the slightest. You have been left in a very difficult and probably stressful situation by the original sponsor. Good luck to you. Hope you work it out and end up with a better and more supportive sponsor.
  10. Understand your frustration but you must put your health first. Hopefully this will turn out to be nothing or at worse something that is easily remedied. Remember that the guy who did the medical is first and foremost a doctor and has your best interests at heart. Find out from your gp who you have been referred too and be pro-active. Phone the urologist's secretary regularly to see if there are any cancellations for example. Polite pestering is the name of the game.... and that comes from a nurse!... Good luck, I hope everything is ok.
  11. We are hoping to head for the sunshine coast on a 457. Been offered a job but only a salary of $60k 2 kids and only one wage initially. Is it impossible or doable if we are careful?
  12. "OK, now I'm feeling like the worst parent in the world. We've started giving them homework each day to keep them fresh."(quote) Now I feel bad that I'm not doing anything academic with them... might have to add that in... seven weeks just isn't enough!!....
  13. We also start the SEVEN week break this weekend!!! Last night I sat them down and we wrote a list of things we have already planned to do (structured days out) and then we wrote a list of things they would like to do... should point out that they are soon to be 6 and 4. The 4 year old said she would like to eat chocolate cake, have picnics and paint. The 6 year old wants to walk up hills, have treasure hunts and go to London to see the Queen! We hope to be in Qld by October so the list then turned into a sort of 'bucket' list of things we want to do before we go. Now I have to fit in a trip to Cadbury World; a camping trip; a canal boat ride; a day out at the museum of welsh life (better than it sounds); and trip up North to visit family. All this whilst carrying on going through the whole visa thing with medicals etc. Not to mention the whole packing up your life thing.... BRING IT ON...
  14. I'm not going with rose tinted glasses.. they just don't suit me anymore.. too long in the tooth. Going with the ethos that you get out what you put in. And to prove to my girls that dreams come true with faith and hard work. I am however taking hope with me.... a great big bucketful of the stuff...
  15. Hubbie did the young free and single thing working in Sydney back in the early '90's. We've decided that the Sunshine Coast is a better option now that he is a family man!
  16. Don't know if any of us can pinpoint one or two specific reasons why we are doing it or have done it. Initially, when you start thinking about emigrating there probably is... but in my opinion, to get to the point where you are actully going to do it, a hundred and one (personal and individual) reasons have all fitted together to convince you that this is the right thing for you and your family.
  17. Depends on how it affects you on a daily basis. Your medical assessment would be the decisive point. You may be asked to undergo an ECG. Good luck.
  18. Safe journey. I daydream of being at your stage..... good luck.

  20. Hi I registered with ahpra in jan this year with diploma qualification. Not aware of any changes to their policy.
  21. A lovely heart warming post from a young family embracing life. I wish you health and happiness wherever your journeys take you.
  22. I huffed off into the clothes section and punished him that way for not agreeing with me! We have now (like proper grown ups) compromised, and decided to buy those duvet set things where you have two duvets of different tog ratings stuck together so that you can create three different tog ratings!! What will we do with ourselves when the move is over????? What will we talk about??? What will we spend our money on??
