  1. Hi All An update on my application I submitted my 309/100 application on 8th September 2016. I front loaded my Medical and ACRO police check 22nd Dec. My immiAccount shows that my medical was ok I do not know if I have been assigned a case officer yet, even thought this mostly seems to happen around the 3 months time. I know from this forum that I may not hear anything from my case officer if everything is in order (I hope) I phoned the Europe service center inquiring about a case officer, and about police check, I done this just before Christmas, the person I spoke to was very nice acknowledged that my medical was ok and assured me that I would likely get a case officer early in the new year. My house is now under offer and completion is looming so as suggested by the website I emailed the Europe Service Center asking what my options might be weather it would be possible to get a bridging visa or similar to allow me to travel to Australia and look for work. I received an automated email in reply stating that someone would respond to my email in 5 working days. 8 days later (Thursday past Australia day) no response, so I phoned them, in contrast to the person I spoke to before Christmas I spoke to someone who was verging on rude and was of absolute no help what so ever. I finished the phone call fuming. Their advice was if I felt I qualified I could apply for a skills based visa???? When I pointed out that this was of no help they paused then said they weren't going to argue with me. ( I wasn't arguing I pointed out that to apply for that visa would take more money and would have processing time as well??????? Anyway after all that she returned to the default that "your application is within the published processing times of 10 to 14 months" and didn't budge. My situation is My wife is Australian we have been living together since December 2004 and were married in May 2007 We have two children together and they are both registered as Australian. We lived in Northern Ireland. I took redundancy from my work to fund the move in July 2016. My wife and children moved to Adelaide in late September so the kids could start school. Our house went on the market in November and we agreed an offer in December. I hope completion will be at start of February. So now...... Waiting Waiting Waiting Just thought I would put this out there. Thanks Jonathan.
  2. Hi I applied on 8th Sept and still waiting on appointment of Case officer I went ahead before Christmas and done my medical and applied for my police check. My wife and children are Australian so I'm now just waiting on my visa so as we can all start our new life in Adelaide. it's getting a bit frustrating as before I applied people seemed to be getting a case officer in the UK 3 months I have now been waiting just over 4 months and while I accept that was over Christmas and New Year holidays but I'm really hoping things will start to move soon.
  3. Hi everyone I have applied for spouse visa in UK (Sept 2016) Has anyone applying for similar visa been assigned Case officer recently? Thanks Jonathan
  4. Thanks B I don't think I need the police check from the Gards. I'll wait and see when I eventually get my case office assigned. Thanks Jonathan
  5. Hi Yes This seems to be the case for Australia at the moment anyway it could all change with "Brexit" As I have said the information came in relation to immigration to New Zealand not Australia and I'm not too sure exactly how long ago but certainly a few years. Thanks Jonathan
  6. Hi Alexis Thanks for your reply. I have applied and received my Police Certificate through ACRO. I believe that all police forces of the UK now use this system if resident in UK. My query originated from someone saying to me that a relative of theirs was going to New Zealand and like me held a passport from Republic of Ireland. I have never lived in the Republic of Ireland and apparently neither had they, but the case officer for immigration to New Zealand apparently asked the individual if they could get a police check done from the police force in the republic of Ireland (The Gardi Siochana). Thanks Jonathan
  7. Hi Folks a wee question I am applying for my police checks but as I hold an Irish passport, I have been told I should also apply for a police check from the Garda Siochana. Has anybody any experience of this? I have been a UK resident (N. Ireland) all my life I have never worked in the Republic. Any advise welcome. I'm not sure what a blank piece of paper from Garda Siochana is going to help but I will look into how to apply for it anyway. Thanks Jonathan
  8. Hi what is the current amount of time from submitting a partner visa application in UK to allocation of case worker?
  9. Hi sorry don't mean to cause confusion, I have enough for all of us. Yes we went about things a wee bit unusually, but my wife wanted to get home, and wanted to get kids registered into a school before the end of the school year. The kids are not part of the application other than adding proof to a meaningful and lasting relationship. The reason the kids have a UK passport is another story, but in short it was cheaper and quicker (without a trip to Dublin or London) to get them UK passports. My wife and kids only went to Adelaide just over a week ago. Yes we got them registered in a school and we will have to apply for Australian passports for them. They were registered as Australian citizens from birth.
  10. Hi the kids and wife are already in Adelaide The kids traveled on UK passports. The only issue they had was when checking in at Heathrow the airline had to phone to get a Government clearance.
  11. Yes I will check all again tomorrow but it looks like it will be best and required to get both checks done on my wife. Thanks
  12. The children are dual citizens, UK passports and Australian citizenship documents, they both previously had Australian passports.

  15. Hi I think I have the relevant documents covered both birth certificates, both passports, both uk driving licences, marriage certificates, our childrens uk birth certs, joint bank account and joint mortgage statement. Is the jist of it. Does my wife need both a UK police check and an Australian one? Thanks Jonathan
  16. Yes my wife is Australian and she has went over to Australia to get kids registered in a school before the next term starts in October
  17. Hi I have submitted my application on ImmiAccount Stage 1 - Partner or Prospective Marriage Visa (300,309/100,820/801) and have paid the fee. on 8th Sept 2016. What is likely to be the next step and how long before I hear from them. I have attached a number of documents to the account as well. but probably only 10 on each on my and my wife (sponsor) account. Any further advice welcome. My container to load on UK side arrives 14th Oct. Thanks Jonathan

  21. Hi I have been on and off this site for a few years now and found it interesting and at times helpful. I'm in process of applying for Partner (Provisional) visa (subclass 309). I will get the funds for it on 26th August. and hope submitted on the day. I will up date this site as I go along. I'm having a few issues with the immiAccount not verifying my wife as my sponsor. Does anyone know where would be best to get advice on this?
