I'm in the fortunate position that being from N. Ireland I can hold two passports so I have left my Immiaccount alone. I used my current Irish passport when I applied and it expires in May.So in the meantime I have applied for an UK passport so when I get it I can switch to that one an therefore always have a valid passport on my immiaccount. I thought it was just a case of leaving the country and re enter through immigration my wife was pricing day return flights to Bali does, it sounds as if that is no good.

Well that was my problem we haven't submitted any 888 forms as we have lived together for 12 years in UK and It seemed to imply it had to be filled in by someone from Australia. I asked is this a required document and the tele handled suggested it was a required document. She said that as we had lived in UK the document should be filled in by someone who knows us in the UK. This set me off I asked what was going on as people with similar circumstances but applied after me had already been granted a visa and yet here was a document that apparently is a required document and my CO hadn't even been in touch to ask me to get these forms completed. Not a happy camper. Has anyone else had their Visa Granted without getting the 888 forms filled in?

I contacted the Europe Service center today as well asking about Form 888. I was told that even thought other people who applied after me have had grants recently that I can't compare two different circumstances, and the usually same as Uhtred the processing time is 10 to 14 months. I hope to get a completion date for my house next week and then I intend to travel on a tourist visa hopefully in a around 3 weeks time. :wink:

Yes some people do as the visa takes months to process but you also have to do a medical. Some people wait to be asked to do this by the Case Officer (CO) who will assess your application. When they do ask you to go and get the medical usually you know that the rest of your application is ok. Otherwise the CO will ask for more information or whatever. Well after a phone call to the Europe Service Center in regard to my soon expiring passport. I'm now still just as frustrated from talking to the jobsworth on the other end but I do know I've been assigned a CO.

There has been a few recently now granted between 5 to 6 months and one supercharged at 3 months. I hope the 5 to 6 months continue as I'm currently just over 5 months and have heard nothing. Sent from my SM-G935F using Tapatalk
