  2. That's what I thought! IN a couple of weeks (during the school summers hols) not for a couple of weeks, I think some are going for just one week
  3. .....but ok, it's cold and wet and the middle of summer! Can't have it all.
  4. Sorry but it's true! Back in the UK for a short time and yes, Trafford Centre packed, Chill Factor packed, restaurants full (on Sunday night?) everyone going to Spain in a couple of weeks. Kind of feel like the poor relation form Oz! Lol

Update.....the holster monitor cost $60 only as Medicare paid the rest. Referred to a cardiac specialist following the result who I saw today...bulk billed. Mild beta blocker prescribed ($6.99)due to "troublesome" irregular heartbeats. Advised nothing serious, probs stress related so happy patient and great service ...well done Australia !! Thank you all for your replies.
  6. Yeh...I can see people kind of re-tuning when I speak then it's ok, I think they always miss the first couple of sentences though. Lol
  7. So when you have your P2 you can drive whichever.....but you wouldn't know how to drive a manual!! Crazy system.
  8. I found the sport bit hard though...my kids aren't sporty so the chilling out with other kids on bikes in the street, which is what they did back home (in Manchester !) kind of wasn't here. They are settled now but it took a while.
  9. So do you think it's a better life for your boys? You will find your in good company on here with the feelings you have right now....they will settle though it's early days
  10. looking at the Newcastle Uni info....degrees with honours are available here. Were you talking about a specific state?
  11. .....like Addy says.....just different. Maybe a little easier as it's spread over a longer period and more assessment based.
  12. I originally posted this in sept ...fast forward and my now year 12 son is working soooo damn hard! God bless him. He really deserves to get that Uni place. :cute:
  13. Thank you Addy....I don't remember seeing this reply! Very informative.
  14. You said the real estate was over inflated ? soooo no thanks.
  15. Nah, ya 'right, rather stay here and get ripped off in Sydney :skeptical:
  16. Those retirement villages cost the resident a fortune, they'd wanna be good  A lot of the elderly in oz live in those caravan parks. Also maybe better off being old in the UK with the free health service.
  17. Random question Stacey, just noticed how many posts you've made....37,000! Whow. Do you hope to come over to Australia at some stage ?
  18. I don't have the answer......not sure there is a straight forward one. It's so very common though, I remember speaking to an older lady who says she cries everyday, probably not literally but I knew what she meant. She was just reconciled but seem cheerful, I guess she just got used to those feelings, the human spirit is very resilient. You really should be "allowed" to take the kids to see family back home ? ....that's called being plain and simple reasonable! Sending hugs, you're not alone
  19. Your right, different thread. I got the impression OP children were quite young. Keep up AJ :cute:
  20. from oz I presume?...probably 4 times more ! and you can't get All Inclusive in any of those places, not including booze as well. Some folk just won't admit it.
  21. Come on ! be fair, $5 for a cooked breakfast is usually cheap even by Aus standards. We've shopped around and pay around $12 for a good one.
  22. They might do if mum sets up a nice home for them. I unless they're the beachy, hot sunshine type there's more going on back in the UK for their age group.
