  1. Hi BC, So sorry to hear about this. Regarding the visa medical, I'm afraid I can't help much with that but I wish you all the best with it. I have however found some information which may be of help to you regarding travelling, see the link below http://www.heartstroketayside.scot.nhs.uk/default.aspx?navigationid=355 Best case scenario, your tests will come back negative and you will be able to get on with you plans. Please try and stay calm in the mean time, look after your health before all else, we only get one body. Good luck, I really, really hope all goes well for you. Metoo x
  2. Hi Rachall, Thanks so much for the info. In view of this we will defo be bringing our Swift Conqueror with us next year. We are having air con fitted in 2 weeks time as we will be taking it to South of France this summer for our holls. I have head though that we will have to have the air con de-gassed when we bring it over to Australia. Have they mentioned anything about having the electric sockets changed over to ozzy ones?. We would rather keep the UK ones in place as all our appliances are 3 pin. We were in Sydney recently and spoke to a salesman at the caravan dealers and he said that imported caravans for re-sale purposes have to have all the electric sockets changed but he thought we might get away with it on a personal import, however, if we then wanted to sell it on at a later date it might not pass comliance. He did say however that he was not entirely sure about that. (he was a ping pong pom on his second stint in Sydney lol) So glad you are enjoying your time in Australia, make the most of the lovely weather, its freeeezing here. We had the caravan home for the easter weekend so we could give it a good clean and it started snowing while we were washing it :biglaugh:  All the best Metoo x
  3. Hi Rachael, thanks for the info. May I ask how long you owned the van before shipping. That aside, I hope you are enjoying being in Australia and settling into your new life. all the best Metoo x
  4. Thanks for that, don't understand why they want braided pipes, we seem to manage ok with rubber pipes as do all bbq's, but thanks for the clarification.
  5. I have read about the gas braiding that's needs to be changed, could you please clarify what this is, as I am not sure.
  6. Here's someting I didn't know about spouse visas When you are granted the 309 you have one year to validate and then supposedly 4 more years to make the move HOWEVER If you are still in the UK 2 yrs later when the 100 is granted for PR then you have to validate a second time or make the move within the year so here was us thinking we had 5 yrs to make the move and suddenly its panic stations we now only have 11 months or we will have to validate again. I am not complaining, maybe its the kick up the backside we needed to get us moving, I just never realised we would have to. Does everyone else already know this and its me being a bit slow on the uptake? Metoo
