I relocated from Cambridge to the Shire as well and love it :-). I tried to send you a PM LKC but your inbox is full. My favourite family suburbs around here are Como, Oatley and the quieter parts like Illawong :-). Dave & Family

:-) I'm from Cambridge, very poorly travelled then made the hop to Sydney. I miss Cambridge but wish I could take the Sun and career opportunities home with me. @OP If I were to return to England it would be to Cornwall/Devon, beautiful area. Whatever happens I think it important to live now, you might get hit by a bus tomorrow.

I work for a managed services provider, specialising in AWS (though technically vendor neutral). We are constantly recruiting and I am happy to pass along appropriate CV's.

Thanks all. Quoll: Unfortunately no :-( Chicken: My employer is Sydney based but happy to employ me from wherever I can find an Internet connection :-). Wife is about to go on maternity leave and may not return to work for a while. Snifter: So It could be 600 GBP and a big form? Hmm.. :-) I have tried to get advice from https://ukvi-international.faq-help.com/, but the online chat option is only available briefly and never finds an online agent. Sigh. Perhaps I need to seek out some more professional advice. Thanks for the replies anyway all, I appreciate it and there isnt a huge rush here. I will try to update this thread if/when I get further.

Hi All, Its been a while since I posted here. Australia is going great; but we are toying with moving back temporarily to the UK to spend some time with my side of the family and introduce them to the kids. Me: Pom, on a temporary spouse visa in Australia, soon to be considered for permanent spouse visa Wife: Oz, had UK FLR visa in early 2011 - is now expired I guess. What visa does my wife need? Thanks for any help here, Dave & Libby

Congrats to the recent grants! I am now in Sydney and can report the Sun is shining. :-D

Uh huh. After seeing how expensive the beer is - maybe we should get our respective partners to buy the beer. ;-D

My CO has told me it will be granted early next week. I fly on Wednesday. Happy days....... though the stress & secrecy of the process will stick with me for a while!
-
No visa for me yet. My new employer is happy to wait for me though l, which is one less thing to worry about. Applying for tourist visa now.
-
Well my CO confirmed receipt of the passport copy. He still says hes not in a position to issue me a visa. I am starting to get a bit frustrated by it all. The worst thing is its a product entirely of my own creation.
-
Today is the last day I can wait before making flight changes or applying for a tourist visa. Haven't been many grants recently - 5 or 6 people were skipped for Wardie's grant. Unless its a bit out of date. Certainly myself and Lhigman. Hopefully today is the day. Fingers crossed for everyone else!

Thanks Nimhug - fantastic that you are settling in. New certified passport copy is en route to Australia House as of this morning. Will be there tomorrow. Dave

I let AB know I Lost my passport & that a knew one was on the way. He says it wont impact my visa grant at all - and just to send him a certified copy asap. Don't suppose you had your grant today? I hope to get mine on Tuesday (intel from another poster!). Dave

Research shows! Monday 8 Tuesday 9 Wednesday 5 Thursday 3 Friday 6 Saturday 2 Sunday 0 Haha. I am guessing the Saturdays are a mistake.

Nah - I haven't called. Hes very good on email. He replied yesterday insisting that its still 5-6 months. I suspect Lindor/Anika today and me and lhigman next week but fingers crossed its sooner. I have to find/replace my passport as well which is more dead time........ I think it'll all workout.

Yeah lots of people end up doing that it seems. Just keep your case officer informed for peace of mind

I use http://www.seek.com.au mostly. & Simplyhired.com.au.............. I tend to not mention my visa until asked - then say I have a permanent spouse visa (which is a bit of a lie as I have the 309 coming not the 100). I also mention my Australian Wife. Some agents will ignore you, some employers will - but its worth a shot to get applying now. You can at least build up some contacts to spam nearer the time.
