  1. If it helps I mapped my spending last year into categories, a full breakdown, I am a frugal kind of person though. It's not totally the best guide given we stayed home a lot last year and fuel was super cheap. PM me if you would like a copy. You seem to have your mind set on the move, persistence and hard work can make the difference. We moved out almost 7 years ago with a small child and two early teens. It's been great to show them a different world. they have done great from the move. We are starting to consider returning home, we have a reasonable life here but it is just not for us long term (the characterless suburbs, lack of choice, refusal to progress/innovate, and there is only so many times you can see a beach) the kicker our two elder kids are young adults and have decided their lives are here. So we are now in a limbo state.
  2. Hi all I need a bit of help please, I am an expat educator currently completing my masters. I am trying to figure what the classroom will look like in the future so I can help shape the environments and tools we will use. I have put together a questionnaire and I was hoping you might have some time to complete it. It is 15 questions but should take 10 min or less. I do have a big base of vet sector educators so I was hoping to balance it out a little, and you can be based in any country. https://docs.google.com/forms/d/e/1FAIpQLSeOzyCG8AIpVibYgQwO-4cRDNW1Hd02QbnZsNDBPuaGKq_kKQ/viewform?usp=sf_link Thank you in advance. 3. I think the pre paid seems expensive, but I think it's the way it's heading, I'm not in a rush I'll just have to stop in all the shops as I'm passing, they don't use a lot of min or calls but they eat data and it will cost me a fortune if I put them on contract.
  4. im also on the hunt for a sim, ive just ordered a amaysim card for myself, im in bris. Has anyone come accross anything ideal for kids? mine were on capped contracts at home, so i didnt get big bills. Has anyone come across any here or any have any suggestions for teenagers?
  5. Hi I'm in wynnum, would love a bayside meet too
  6. Hi are waiting for our belongings to arrive and whilst chatting with a man in the game store yesterday he said he has heard reports of xbox ones going pop when you plug them in due to a power issue. We have a few xbox 360s and an xbox one i was planning on just getting a few adaptors and plugging them in via the adaptor, I am a little worried now, I haven't found much info other than a few people saying their US ones had popped due to voltage difference and a few other poms asking the same as me, i can't find any clear advice that UK ones are safe to plug in, nor of any UK ones popped. You can't buy the power brick on its own, from Microsoft, you can buy 3rd party from china but not keen on the idea. Has as anyone else brought Uk xbox one and used it in oz yet?
  7. im getting one of each, i was planning 2 large, 1 for the boxes and one for the furniture, i marked out the space on the garage floor, I was surprised how much i actually fitted i only need a med for the boxes i think i toyed with the idea of just 1 big one, and binning stuff, but i thought the extra £700 means i can just shove everything in...i think, im confused too
  8. im thinking about 2 move cubes rather than a container, prices is just under 2k for 2 large move cubes, and then maybe just under 1k for customs, so seems to be cheaper than container prices Im thinking one with beds and white goods, and one for boxes.
  9. hi minag, im a GD and i already have my visa for canberra, we received the visa in sept, and we have to be there by august, hopefully leaving end of june
  10. Basically you have a qualification in one thing, but experience in the other. If you want to go through as a EE, you already have the degree, so you just need experience in it...or you find a job and go the sponsored route If you want to come though as a telecoms technician then you need to see if that is on the list and if so do you meet all the requirements. Realistically it dosent matter how skilled you are or if you are good at what you do, as if you aint on the list there is little you can do. I think you need to figure which route will get you there on the visa which is best suited to your long term plans. i am probably not the best person to give advice on that Hopefully you will get your sponsorship through ACT, good luck
  11. Great news now lets all get to ox
  12. My kids just had asda or primark shoes...they dont walk funny, nor are their feet harmed, infact my son was a runner. Clarks is too expensive for me
  13. Unfortunately, if we want to get a visa for their country, we have to answer the questions they ask, and provide the documents they request. We need them, not the other way round. That is not your CO's problem, and they are just following the process that is in place. Has your CO actually suggested you falsify documents?
  14. thats not the COs fault, as applicants, we make every effort to provide the requested. Is your CO actually suggesting you falsify documents? that seems odd and i would have thought it would get a CO in a lot of trouble
