I've read several comments about the bacon in Australia. I must be missing something because all the bacon I have had has been fantastic... With one exception, I bought British Style Bacon from Coles recently and when it came out from under the grill it had shrunk to almost nothing. Sorry to hear you're feeling down. Ihave found that joining in the not-too-serious threads on here has helped me in my darker moments. There are a few people on here with whom I owe a debt of gratitude, I'm sure they know who they are! You can try but I don't think they will put much effort into finding you anything until you can go to interviews. In fact if memory serves me right they like to 'see' you first themselves. Wow, a fascinating story. I've only been in Aus 3 and a half years and at the moment have no desires to go back but your post has made me wonder if maybe one I may change my mind. All I can say is the same as I say to people who are not site about emigrating to Australia : at the end of your days when you are reflecting about your life, the only regrets should be about the things you have done and not regret the things you haven't! Slightly side tracking here but a friend of ours was always raving about her microwave rice cooker. We finally bought and now wonder how we lived with out it! All it is, is a bowl with a lid with a hole in it. 2 cups of rice, 4 cups of water, microwave for 15 minutes uncovered, hen put the lid on and let it stand for a further 5. Perfect rice EVERY time! I'm pretty sure Listerfield doesn't allow dogs. Cardinia does but they must be on a lead (but it's a goods place to see the roo's) KCC park in Skye near Cranbourne is a dog club park with a huge off lead pen and a lake they can swim in (although it looked a bit manky on Friday). Yep, I second Petals. There's plenty of us in Berwick, don't know of any personally with children that young, but some one is bound to pop in and say hello, particularly with 'Berwick' in the title.
