Guest Noelle
I understand i have to buy books uniforms and pay fees but is the schooling free thereafter in Western Australia and can my kids attend on a tourist visa? Kind Regards
Quinkla
Tourist visas do not normally allow recourse to public funds. Moreover, one would have to ask whether the purpose of your visit was really tourism if you sent the children to school. Could this prejudice any future application for residency if an immigration officer perceived this to be a sign of bad character? I’d take expert legal advice before doing this. Amy123
They are only allowed to attend the school for 12 weeks and the public school where we sent our daughter we had to pay an international fee aswell.

That sounds right (the international fee). Was that on a tourist visa?

ali
They may be classed as an international student on a tourist visa and therefore subject to international fees, even if it was a state school.
Quoll
I think most states allow 12 weeks attendance on a tourist visa with pro-rata international student fees which are generally around the $8 -$10k pa mark
