Guest The Pom Queen
Yes they would work but you would need an adapter which are cheap enough. The legalities side is a little different as it wouldn't be approved to use by telstra.
JoandJon
Depends on how much you love them I suppose - if you know someone who needs new phones then I'd do a good deed and donate them, and buy new in Oz, but if not, and you're stocking a container, then shove it in the box and see! What's the worst that can happen?
Clarkes
Thanks, know what you mean but don't really want to bring things for them not to work when I could have given them to a caring new home.
rammygirl
It can depend on the frequency they use. Our UK ones did work but the quality of reception was poor so we got Oz ones. Customs asked us about the frequency as the bands used for emergency services in UK and Oz must be different and they have to be an approved frequency. We had the same issue on returning to the UK!! Quoll
They will actually not be legal here http://www.acma.gov.au/WEB/STANDARD/pc=PC_1687 of course many people dont think that is an issue but it's the regs - you dont plug something without an Aussie tick of approval into the Aussie system
