I agree with a previous post that the 9Dec update was probably just to say that they started with Cat5 again. I do believe there will be an update coming Monday or Tuesday:biggrin:

zionking
Hi All, I was wondering whether the immigration office closes during Christmas week? Can anybody give a link which announces when and how long the office closes? Official announcement aside, normal Australia closing time this year is from 22nd Dec to 3rd of jan. (Seriously, nothing will get done 23rd so might as well disregard that.) I know I am off from 21st!

exodus
Can I ask you a personal question - what exactly did you initially upload that's not considered enough work experience for them? Hi, I sent them the reference letters of both the company's i worked in. Salary slips for the the one I currently work in and taxation documents. I did not have any payslips for the previous employer as the employees were paid in cash and no taxation documents as my salary was not under the taxable bracket. My work experience criterion shows met, which means I have the relevant documentation to cover the 12 months in a skilled application prior to lodging my application. The specific work experience is where additional documentation has been requested... I may need to provide some more documentation in regards to my previous employment. I intend on providing a letter from a chartered accountant explaining why I had not filed returns when I was employed with the previous company. Also I have a salary certificate that highlights the salary and the mode of payment... Do you or anyone think this should suffice

twister292
Hi All, I was wondering whether the immigration office closes during Christmas week? Can anybody give a link which announces when and how long the office closes? They follow the public holidays for the particular state in which that office is located. For christmas/new year, the holiday for all states is 26 and 27 dec (monday and tuesday) and then 2 jan is off.

Guest SHRIKANT
Hi Folks, I have a question regarding PCC. Just to brief you, I had been employed with a Singapore based company (a Contractor) and deputed to my present employer from June2009 to June 2010 on one year contract. During this time I was living in Qatar on Business Visa which is valid for 3 months only and I had to exit Qatar every three months and re-enter on a new business visa. This continued for one year. The cumulative stay in Qatar on business visa was less than a year in this time. After the contract was over, my present employer offered me a job as a permanent staff so I re-entered Qatar on a work visa ( resident permit ) in Aug-2010. I had applied for PCC in Qatar and they have given me the PCC date starting from Aug-2010 and not from June-2009. When I enquired with the authorities, they told me that they can not give PCC for people entering on business visa and those who do not stay for more than six months at a stretch. In Form 80, I mentioned that I was living in Qatar since June 2009 till date. My question is , Will CO accept this PCC or he might ask for another PCC for June 2009 to June 2010??? Sorry for this long story!! Any help / suggestions ??? Cheers, Shrikant

So if you have had any record during your stay even on a temporary or business (or even short term stay) visa, it should show in future PCCs you will be issued with. The most recent PCC should suffice.

Guest SHRIKANT
Hi Twister, In my PCC, they have mentioned they do not have any criminal records against me from 14/08/2010 to 30/11/2011.. In Form 80, I mentioned that I am living in Qatar from 29/06/2009 till date.. One more thing, I got a new passport in April 2011 as the old one was valid till Oct -2011. So, they have mentioned the details of new passport on Qatar's PCC . When I was on business visa in Qatar,I was using the old passport.. I do not know what CO would require in this case?? It s a big pain to take another PCC in Qatar ..I just wish that CO should accept this PCC..!!
twister292
In your form 80, have you declared your stays in Qatar on the business visas as individual short visits or one contiguous visit? That might make a difference as well, and I think the CO would be aware that most countries will not issue PCCs for tourist/short-stay visas...
