Thank you cherise!

I called that number. They told me that I am not off-list nomination.

They told me that I have been nominated normal sponsorship when I got sponsorship.

I don`t understand what they mean.

My occupation is optical dispenser.

Can you take an information about optical dispenser for me??

ok I think i understand, If you had applied for wa sponsorship as an off list occupation then they moving those applicants up to cat 2???? thats my understanding. Im not sure Ivy, sorry im not much help, But because my occupation was not on wa skilled occupation list in 2009 I applied as an off list applicant and my sponsorship took much longer to come through than what everybody else was... thats how i became an off list sponsored applicant.

Best of luck with finding out what is going on.

Hi,

Has anyone else got confirmation about this.

I applied as an WA offlist for 2231-79 NEC in June 2009; It was granted in Sep 2009

Is this likely to mean my application currently in Cat 4 will go to Cat 2?

I plan to ring the DIAC tomorrow to find out more.

Thanks in advance

Hi~Jimm!

Great news!

Many cong~~~

I called WA but an officer told me " I am not sure".

I have been sponsored on 3rd Sep 2009.

My agents didn`t believe that news.

I think that all applicants who was sponsored by WA could not be included in cat2.

Hi ivyc10

Thanks for your compliments. I was myself surprised today when in the morning i got an email from a team 4 case officer requesting further information etc. I was sponsored in May 2009 and applied for 176 in the sep 2009.Last i heard from DIAC was that i was cat 4, since they have assigned me a case officer now and as my occupation is not in their smp list i am assuming well that they state is successful in its negotiations with DIAC about people who are already sponsored.I am sure and i do pray that you will get your case officer soon enough.Best of Luck.

In order to be an off list nomination, you would not have been on the old Wa list. You would have specifically asked to be sponsored as an off list. It is nothing to do with current smp. ( unless applying for new off list) For example hairdressers not on smp so cat 4 but they were on the original list so this does not apply to them either ( sorry to the hairdressers not singling you out as I know it's crap but just trying to explaIn off list)

Does that make sense?

Hi Jimm

Just to clarify . Where you definately on the list of WA occupation swhen they sponsored you and you were definately not lodged as an off list nomination.

If it does pan out that youhave received a CO and your original 176 was on WA list then this is good news for all other Cat 4 applications.

It does seem however that other people who have rcd this email were genuine off list nominations as Littlem has indicated trades like my OH as an Hairdresser.

Clarification from any agents would be welcome at this time !

interesting twist, Well I personally believe , they are treating all the people on CAT4 as off line (whether previously they were on active list or off-line) and they are selecting applications based on date of application.

I applied in May , 2010 my occupation is 2231-79(nec) and CO was assigned in June, I can't say whether my application is being processed further or not.

Hi Shane

At the time i applied for WA state sponsorship my occupation was listed in their main occupations list and not an off list occupation. Its confirmed that i have received a CO today asking for some documents.

To my understanding WA is successful in their negotiations with DIAC about moving those they already sponsored and whose occupations are not in the new smp list to cat 2 if not they wouldn't have assigned me a case officer today as DIAC confirmed me to be cat 4 before.

Maybe in the next few days or weeks they assign case officers to all those they sponsored previously and whose occupations are not in the new WA smp.

I don't know what sort of negotiations went with DIAC maybe they have outlined some criteria for moving some trades or occupations to cat 2 or something like that but its all a guess work.If indeed this is the case then i think its very very unfair on their part to all those they have sponsored and now only considering people on the basis of their occupations.

Better it would be that you confirm from WA or DIAC about all this affair.

Hi~Jimm!

I think that your occupation is same with rikmartin.(NEC)

He has been sponsored on 2009.

He told that his occupation was on the off-list at that time.

And I received an e-mail from WA.

It is~

Dear Chang,

SMWA had a limited ability to offer State Sponsorship to applicants with occupations that were not included on the WAOIDL and these applications were called “Off-list applications”.

During your phone calls to our office (SMWA) today, it was explained to you that as a result of Skilled Migration Western Australia’s (SMWA) negotiations with the Department of Immigration and Citizenship (DIAC) Offlist applications are now to be processed as Priority 2. SMWA was not able to secure a change in priority for those applications that were on the WAOIDL at the time State Sponsorship was offered.

Optical Mechanic was on the WAOIDL at the time State Sponsorship was offered, but is not on the WASNOL so your application remains priority 4.

DIAC have determined the priority processing hierarchy as detailed on their website, although they do not inform us when an application is assigned to a case officer, so I am unable to confirm if applicants in a similar situation to you are being processed.

Anyone still have the WA old occupation list? We can check whether Jimm occupation was on the list or not when the time state sponsor was offered.

It appears that Jimm 's occupation is 2231-79(nec) that was in active State Sponsored list since I was also in same group (i.e. 2231-79(nec)).

Hence the idea i have presented may be right "They are selecting application on the basis of Date of submission"

At the time of my SS application the WA list contained the 2231-79 ASCO code with the usual DIAC SOL specialisms, java, sap, net security etc.

Since I only had 2231-79(nec) I applied as an off list app. maybe it had recently changed from being on the list but as of June 2009 it wasn't on their list.
