Conniebygaslight
It's absoluely throwing it down here in SE Qld at the moment and very foggy. As I listen to the rain outside I wish that I was in England, Australia in the rain seems more depressing to me. Just over 2 weeks to go.... Do we not have baths here then? Blimey, talk about third world country. Guest chris955
I'm sure everyone is very happy for you but what's the point in that post really ? I for one am sorry you have no family or friends in the UK or places you liked when growing up or favourite food but many do.
Guest afrogers
I have lived here now for 41 years, and I must admit to missing Fray Bentos Steak and Kidney Puddings the most. However, I did something about it. I contacted Customs, and asked them if it was permissible to purchase them in the UK and have them shipped out. I was put on to the correct department and was told that because it was sealed in a tin, that it was Ok. So I purchased 2 dozen tins from a company in Bognor Regis. It cost me $300 but now I don't miss them at all. Of course, there are still some family and friends that I miss. Adrian...

Guest SimplyMoi
I'm an Aussie stuck in the UK - been here 32 years and now just so desperately want to get home, but unfortunately am looking at another 5 or so years before that can happen due to my pension situation. But after living here so long, I am aware there are some things I am going to miss with a passion when I eventually return home, and in no particular order, these are: Hedgehogs, particularly the ones I feed in my garden Canada Geese during the migration season Those cheeky little robins who help me when I am gardening. Elderberry and blackberry picking on lazy late August days for my homemade wine. Bluebell woods in spring Slimbridge October - my favourite month Castles and churches and country houses Roman Britain The Cotswolds The sense of history all around. Oldy-worldy villages everywhere Sunday driving just because you can

Guest SimplyMoi
I absolutely love the Cotswolds, the amazing architecture and countryside. I used to live right in the middle of the Cotswolds - am now living just slightly further north. But oh....the Spring Blossom trail and the apple orchards, Broadway and Brockley, Snows Hill manor, Worcester...the list goes on and on and on... This is where I developed my Sunday Driving habit, so there will be probably loads of people who will be happy to get rid of me as I am often at the head of the queue they are at the tail end of. :biglaugh:
