Guest milliemoo
Hi we are Sean (41), Lisa (40), Beth (9) and Millie (3) and we are moving out in February. We got our visas back in March (seems ages ago now), and agreed a sale on our house in August, then they give back word :arghh: We booked our flights to go out and validate visas February 2010, and booked a rental in Secret Harbour. But we have just accepted another offer on our house so hopefully we can change them to one way tickets  We are looking to settle in Baldivis, not too far from Rockingham. eammon
Hi We're hoping to move out early next year. We have to have made the move or validated by 31 March 2010. Our house is just about to go on the market so hoping we'll sell in time to make the move rather than validating. We looking at moving somewhere around Safety Bay, Waikiki, Warnbro, Port Kennedy. arlene
Hi Thetweenies We are back in Edinburgh now due to family circumstances people dying etc! Even though we loved Oz we realised that people were more important than places. But we did try to return again and we validated our visa this year but due to the credit crunch we could not sell our house which we needed to do to move. I do feel settled back here though and enjoy seeing my children having a relationship with family, I also miss Perth though and will probably will always feel a bit torn between the two places. I have such great memories of Mullaloo and we had a great time there, we met alot of good friends and as I say Mullaloo beach primary was brilliant, my children really enjoyed it. Good luck

Could you share a little info on the schools in Warnbro and Waikiki - we've got two girls aged 8 and 14 so will be looking for both primary and high schools. Also any heads up on Warnbro would be very gratefully received :notworthy: Thanks Denise x

So Waikiki primary will be for us and then Maranatha for high even if we are out of pocket! ( the school is kindy to year 12 so both could go there if you wanted) if I had to choose a state high school it would have to be Saftey bay high but Im not impressed with any of the state high schools here. are you on facebook? you can add me if you like... sambing1@hotmail.com

We were looking at state schools. Both the girls go to good schools over here - our eldest is at a grammar school and Grace goes to a really good primary. When you say Maranatha college isnt overly cheap or too pricey are you able to give a rough guide how much it costs per year or term. I've added you on FB by the way Denise x

mickjthom
Hi Guys We're planning on going to Perth in July/August 2010. Best friend is getting married in July and I'm bridesmaid so hanging around until after the wedding.... well that and waiting to sell house!! I'm 44, hubby Dan 45 (we only just made the age limit!!), and two girls Halle 9 and Maisie 5. No idea where in Perth we want to be, have decided to wait until we get there and let schools and work decide for us. Have an Uncle in Morley, so we'll probably start off somewhere close to there or at least north. Haven't quite got the Visa yet, need to do the IELTS (booked for this Saturday!) to bump my occupation back up to CSL to get processed, otherwise I'm stuck at the bottom of the pile. This thread is a fab idea, thanks for starting it Lou. Jules x Hi Jules, I'm an accountant too but got visa granted earlier this month. We too (me, my wife Dawn and two kids Ross 7 Ruaridh 5 are also going in early Aug? Are you trying to line up work beforehand? Have you looked at any jobs yet? Guest burkecath
Hi Joe (Dougie32) Like us we intend to choose Clarkson, but dont move out until end Jan2010, you have your hands full, sure your head is spinning! Gr8 time to be going, wish we foward planned and went a little sooner - going peak oz summer, more expensive etc... but oh well, lucky to be going eh!!! Good luck with the move! would love to hear how your settling once there and what you think or any tips/advice that we may not have thought about (met a couple of other people through PIO comforting to know others going through the same thing and chance of meetin up in Perth, when we all will need it!). I have been looking at jobs but haven't actually applied for anything yet as don't feel like in a position to actually accept if it was offered. I get daily updates from Seek.com which is really good as just keeps you aware of the amount and types of positions going, and an idea of salaries! Shame really seen a couple of jobs lately that would suit me perfectly!! Currently I'm waiting on results from my IELTS, which I sat last Saturday, fingers crossed it'll give me the 7 I need, find out next Friday (6thNov). From that point on I hope it's just a question of informing my CO and waiting for the decision, everything else has been done... apart from the house sale. How about you, have you been looking for jobs yet? What area are you looking to settling in?? Jules
Guest The Ritchies
Hiya We are Martin, Wendy, Lauren (10 on Saturday!) and Samuel (7) and will be moving to Perth on 11 January. OH has been working on a 457 visa for about a 18 months and was offered a chance to move us all over so we said "Why Not!" Have been really lucky, we haven't had all the visa problems other people have had and house has sold. We have a holiday rental organised for the first 8 weeks in Kinross and then will try to get a rental somewhere for a year and see how it goes from there. Really looking forward to making new friends on PIO. Wendy:jiggy:

Yeah not sure what to do about the girls with regards to bye bye to friends? Weve booked local venue/hall for our leavin do (kinda thought soooo many will want to see us and say bye that i dont want to miss anyone, so do might easier and all at once) plan on it being a fun good old fashioned knees up! and not feel soo sad? know it will be sad at times (will try not to cry) but want everyone to be happy - yeah were going far away but not like we'll never see again - thats my hopes anyway? nothing else at the mo apart from de-cluttering the house/garage and packing the boxes with what we want to take, so kinda in a lull at the mo.
